Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Fantastic interview experience at the London Embassy, everything was prompt, polite and generally a pleasure.

My interview was scheduled for 10.30am, we queued up outside the Embassy and had our paperwork checked slightly before 10am and were let through the security checks at 10am. We then waited at a queue at the front desk of the Embassy where they checked our Visa categories and sent us to the correct section of the floor above based on immigrant and non immigrant Visas.

When me & the other two ladies who were on an immigrant Visa arrived at our section we were bought straight up to the counter to have our paperwork checked. The staff were very polite and friendly, and even told me I'd bought more paperwork than needed and was very willing to answer my questions.

We then sat down for about 5 minutes before being called up to go to the questioning windows. I was asked about 5 questions about my marriage, how we met, have we been to se... read complete review

Could not have been easier! The wait was nerve-wracking, but after looking at my paperwork they only asked me a small handful of very basic questions ("How did you meet? When did you last meet in person?") before approving my visa. After a long wait and a lot of worry, it was almost anticlimactic.

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Just had my embassy interview today for the K1 visa.
I arrived at the embassy at 8:50 and was admitted in even though my appointment was until 9:30. Very easy and smooth. When I got to the waiting room my ticket number was called and I handed over all my documents and did my fingerprints. Then waited for about 15 mins before I was called and asked 2 questions, when did you and your fiancé meet? Where does your fiancé live? Then she told me my visa would be issued in 1-2 weeks. I was done within 25 minutes altogether from entering to leaving.
So easy and nothing to worry about.

Honestly this is the easiest part of the whole process. Make sure you’ve got all the original copies of your documents with you and your courier sheet, they’ll take your fingerprints, ask a couple of questions at a couple of windows. Job done. Go home, wait for passport to go see your loved one. WAY easier than I expected. They let me in 15 minutes early and the whole thing took 30 minutes.

Interview was very quick and straightforward. In the building for 20 minutes. Was asked where we met, where US spouse is living at the moment, where do we plan on living in the US. The officer was very nice and friendly. Had the interview 8 calendar days after medical but embassy had not yet received medical results (this was due to an issue/error with doctor’s office). After the embassy received the medical results. It was a week later that CEAC updated visa status to issued, then 4 business days until passport/visa was returned.
