Friendly staff, few questions - where did you meet your husband, all standard questions. It took 40 min - from security to exit. Embassy can be tricky to find - there is construction everywhere, but worry not - if you are a bit late they still let you in.

The whole process was very smooth and professional.
After security, getting the deli counter numbers, and making my way to the waiting area I was called to the first window.
There I gave my passport, police certificate, birth certificate, marriage certificate and did a finger print scan.
After a 30 min wait I was called for the interview. I was asked when and how we met, when I was planning to move, and whether I had any photos of us as a couple.
It pays to be prepared with everything they list in the website - if you do that then it will all go smoothly.
It did seem crazy how after applying in Nov ‘20 it was all done in a such short space of time!

Review of medical at visamedicals
It’s a straight forward process (check up, vaccines, X-ray) and everyone is professional and courteous as you would expect.
Points to note:
If you don’t have your childhood vaccination records then ask your gp for your full medical records asap - it can take up to 30 days or longer. I just had my short summary which my gp emailed.
I had a tetanus vaccine and a blood test for MMR immunity - £130 additional I think.
They emailed a couple days before the appointment saying that they didn’t need any passport photos since the application is digital.
Took a couple hours and I was there for a 8:50 appointment.

We had our interview yesterday booked for 10.25 am.
My wife and I are emigrating to the US through our son who is an American citizen.
We travelled by train to Waterloo and took a taxi to the Embassy. We arrived two hours early and had breakfast at The District, a cafe opposite the entrance to the visa section of the Embassy. There is also a cafe at Waitrose, which is a three minute walk away, but it was closed.
We went to the Visa entrance at 9.45. There was no queue for immigration visas. We went to a window and handed over our passports, DS260s and our appointment confirmations. A sticker was placed on our appointment confirmation with our interview number on it. We then went to the door to the right of the window and we’re let into security.
The security was like airport security. I had one backpack and my wife a handbag. The security people we very polite and friendly, but efficient.
We were then directed through another door into an open... read complete review
