11am interview on 18 August 2021

We misplaced my wife's passport photos, and so had to scramble and get new ones from a train station. (Yes, there's photo booths at the embassy, but we didn't want to risk it in case there was some issue using them.) Wife arrived at security just before 11. Not much of a queue but took a while to get in because some people ahead had an issue.

Airport-style security. After that, quick to get a number and go upstairs. 25 minute wait to be called up the first time. They asked for civil docs and I-864 (as we were DCF) along with financial documents. She offered proof of domicile but they didn't require it.

After 10 minutes called up again for a quick interview. Officer told her she was approved and kept her passport, and wife was on her way out.

Arrived early to the embassy. Sat outside the South entrance for about 20 minutes and got chatting to someone there for a K1 interview.
Appointment was at 11:00 and went through security at 10:40.
Then sat and waited till nearly 12:00 for my first interview (document review)
It was all fine and pretty straight forward. I had some additional documents to add for our AoS which I ended up needing to upload to CEAC once I got out.
Then about 12:20 I got called up the second time.
Gave my oath and was asked where'd we meet? Tinder (que surprised look :D) and When was our first date? How long had we lived together? 18 months as I moved back to the UK after we married and then she joined me on a spousal visa in December 2019 (move to Europe they said, travel the continent they said, it'll be fun they said) and then she went back to the US in May 2021 to take up her old job while I waited for my visa to be processed.
Was given a green 221 (g) and aske... read complete review

It was fine, the consulate is a beautiful building and I made friends with a bunch of people in the waiting room! It was quite a long wait but considering I was asked to arrive at 9am and I was out of there before 1pm I think it went quite smoothly, it felt like much longer than it was! The staff were stoically professional but kind and it didn’t feel like I was being intimidated or given the Spanish Inquisition, I just had to talk about our relationship and the gentleman told me pretty quickly that I was approved and explained the next steps to me concisely. It was more nerve wracking in my head that it actually was I think!

Arrived around 9.35 for a 10.00 interview. Showed my passport and interview email confirmation sheet to the girl outside the entrance. Went through security and into the building reception. Receptionist took the same docs and printed out a number and couple of barcodes and said go up in the lift to floor 1 and furn left and then left again. The ticket tells you which window to sit near to be called to.

I sat down around 9.45 to wait maybe 5 or 10 minutes and was called up to a window with the ticket number. The guy (who was a total misery) took my marriage cert, police cert, birth cert, passport, passport pic, comformation of courier email for passport to come back to. Asked when we got married. Took my finger and thumb prints. Told me to sit back down in the same area and wait to be called back and in the meantime read the sheet on domestic violence.

Another 10 mins maybe went past and I was called back up, asked to hold my right hand up and swear that ev... read complete review

Very simple interview- just 2 questions: Where did we meet and when do we plan to get married. Very swift. Seemed like the decision was already made.
