Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

This is a review of a CR-1 interview when doing DCF.

When i got to Goulds at around 6:55, it was closed so i went for a walk down to the Embassy and there was nobody there. Not even the beginnings of a queue. Back to Goulds i went and they opened up around 7:10 and i stored my things for £3.

Back at the Embassy by about 7:15, there were about 15 people there. They were all there for Citizen Services or Non-Immigrant visas. At about 7:25, they brought out the desk and started checking peoples appointment letters and passports and let people into the security room 4 at a time, giving plastic bags to people to put belts and watches into.

When i got inside, i got my number at the desk. I was I901. I was inside and sat down by 7:40. At 7:58, they called the first N numbers. After about 5 of those, at 8am i was called up to desk number 1. It was the famous \"dragon lady\". If her lanyard is anything to go by, she is probably Malaysian. She was f... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

I am writing this review on behalf of my fiance, who had his K1 visa interview today. He got there about 8:00 AM, an hour before his interview, and verified that he had his packet 4 letter and then was let in the building.

After a while, he was called up to a window and gave a friendly American woman his certificates and my financial documents. They laughed over the huge folder he had with all of our evidence and she gave him his chest X-Ray.

When he got called up to another window two hours later, he had his interview with a young man who kept the tone friendly. He was asked the following questions:
How did you meet?
Who were you with?
What is her job?
Are you sure you want to get married after knowing each other less than a year (this seemed to be a trick question, as we have known each other a few years)?
What is her job? (This was asked twice)

He was also shown the pictures I sent with the I-129F and a... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

The Sydney Consulate has been nothing but completely professional, helpful, friendly and prompt throughout the duration of this process, and the interview was no different.
My fiancé was with me (USC) and he was allowed to attend the interview also. All staff including the Consulate Officer who conducted the interview, were very friendly and calm which definitely helped put me at ease.
As all my documents were in order and our case was not complicated, the officer asked a few routine questions (where will you live, what job will you do etc) before telling us congratulations you have been approved, and wished me good luck in the States!
It was an extremely pleasant experience.

Approved.
In my own Observation, if your application gets to the London embassy, you are as good as approved.

7:15am
Arrived @ the embassy, got on the queue.

7:30am
doors opened and the interview letter and MRV was checked by an attendant. Passed through the security and walked inside the embassy. I was given a number by the receptionist I 901 and was asked to sit @ the waiting room till my number flashes on the screen.

8:05am
I was called to a window, my travel document, passport photograph (2),interview letter, MRV, police certificate and affidavit of supports were collected + photocopies.

8:25am
done with document's check.

8:50am
Was called to another window for my interview.

Questions

Tell me how you met?
For how long have you been in a relationship?
What does your finacee do?

Review Topic: L-1 Visa

The L1 visa is a non-immigrant visa, but the process is pretty much the same apart from the interview questions. My fiancee and I plan to marry in the US later this year, and adjust status there.

My appointment was for 9am on Tuesday 25th September.

First up, a reminder: don't bring anything electronic with you. Mobile phones are the obvious problem, but it also includes electronic car and house keys, and the guy in front of me was turned around at security for his internet banking password card.

You have to queue to get into the embassy. This is out in the open, so if it rains, you get wet. Being Britain, you could get very wet indeed. I joined the queue close to where the path meets the road, and waited for 45 minutes.

Once you reach the front of the queue, security check your forms, which for me was the interview and DS-160 confirmation (DS-160 is for non-immigrant visas) and the (MRV) visa receipt, as paid to the call cent... read complete review
