My wife decided she wanted to attend the embassy with me so we arranged for her to visit for a holiday as well. We had plans if approved for me to travel to the U.S on the 29th August 2011 via Dublin.

I booked a hotel outside of London center so that we could get to the embassy relatively early and refreshed, but we did not envisage the riots that were taking place nationwide, however they did not affect us at all, we saw signs of rioting, but we were not affected, just as well as her family were a little bit concerned as it had reached international headlines.

On the morning of the interview we got a taxi from the hotel to the embassy which cost around 20 pounds and were in the park outside the embassy by 6:30ish and were first in line by 7am, just after we got there, it started to get busy with officials setting up the bollards and desks ready to check peoples paperwork prior to entering the security segment.

Our paperwork was checked and ... read complete review

Mark had his K-1 interview scheduled today for 8:30am. He woke up this morning with a phone call from me at 4:20am after a restful 2 hour night of sleep. He got to Kings Cross at 7:40 after an hour 45 min train ride. Took a cab to Goulds pharmacy to drop off his phone and keys.
Proceeded to get in a really short queue around 8:00am at the US Embassy. He went through security and sat down around 8:10am.
He was called to a window by his number I910 at 9:10am. Presented to the moderately pleasant British black woman his birth cert, divorce cert, police cert, and copies and court records if any, MRV fee receipt, followed by a few basic questions about the forms, then asked for the I-134 documents. This only took about 15 minutes. She then asked him to take a seat again and wait for his name to be called.
After another hour and a half and after lots of time to memorize each window and the purpose of each he came to the conclusion he assumed the K visas get called to win... read complete review

Mark walked from Bond Street underground station to Brook Street (Grosvenor Square). He could see the line for Embassy from the park. While in line, he was greeted by a woman who asked about watch, belt, wallet, coins, and gave him a plastic bag to put it in for security screening. They checked passport and letter outside just before security screening and got his stuff back. WAs asked not to put his stuff on until he got to the next building (around the corner and up steps). There is a desk there, and they looked at the letter and gave him the pink form, and 3 stickers with the I-number on.

He took it upstairs, put on his stuff again and sat down. The room was fairly full with people blue forms (Non-Immigrant) forms He got through security and seated by 9:10, but waited nearly 2 hours to before being called up. An African American lady who couldn't decide between friendly or not. She didn't ask for most of the documents, but was truly interested was his divorce cert... read complete review

I started the day with virtually NO sleep as I was far to excited and worried at the same time, as are most who go through this process.
Probably only getting about 3 hours sleep during the night if that.
I woke up at 4am in the morning had a shower and put on smart casual work place type clothing and made myself look smart for the interview.
Then after a much needed coffee, waited outside for my Taxi to the train station.
I had already bought the tickets in advance to get the train to London and Tube to Bond street close to the Embassy. This saved me a lot of worry about trying to get tickets from a machine outside :-)
The train arrived on time and had no problems on the journey. I had to ask the information desk about what tube to get to arrive at Bond Street.
I arrived in plenty of time actually VERY early on purpose, as I needed to find Goulds Pharmacy to store my phone and keys in.
After getting to my first stop the Goulds Pharmacy,... read complete review

I'm writing this review on behalf of my husband who had his interview at the London embassy this morning. He arrived at the Bond Street Station around 6:35am (left from Leatherhead, which is about an hour train trip), got a coffee at McDonald's and walked down to the embassy. He arrived at the embassy at approx. 6:50am and there were a few people who had started making their own line so he joined it. Around 7am they brought the desk out and started checking people in from 7:30am. He didn't bring any electronics with him, so there was no issue with having to go to Gould's. He was inside and got his "I Number" by around 7:45am. At 8:00am they booted up the screens and started calling numbers. He said there were a lot more "N numbers" than "I numbers" being called.

Shortly after 8:00am, he got called to the first window where a British man reviewed his paperwork and took his fingerprints and passport. He also signed off this DS-230, was given the pink sheet for the courier... read complete review
