Review Topic: K1 Visa

My embassy appointment was on the 19th of September, I scheduled the medical appointment on the 13th (check my timeline for medical review). I had all my documents prepared in a plastic black folder (, and headed to the embassy on foot (found an Airbnb less than 3 min walk). My appointment was at 8:30 am, and I was there at 8 am. There was a small queue forming at the entrance already, and the embassy security personnel helped reorganize the visitors based on their appointment time. I went through security and inside the embassy by 8:20, and inside the main hall they gave me a number for the IV section, and they made sure I had my address registered for passport delivery. Turkish People are some of the kindest people on the planet. But please do not marry a Turkish Man. Most of the time they will use you for visas. I brought one to America he was violent, had a secret child, stole money from me and I’ve heard this experience happen to plenty of American women. Do not do it ladies! Sorry! His green card was denied and he was sent back to Turkey but snuck back in the United States. Please think hard about marrying at Turkish Man. I know some are good people ,but the respect for women is low. Watch out

Review Topic: K1 Visa

We had a very smooth experience after transferring to Ankara from Frankfurt.

This embassy allows applicants to take p3 documents to the interview itself (instead of sending them in the mail separately) - which was very much appreciated.

We emailed the embassy a few times during the process and they were always quick to respond.

Once our application was received by Ankara, we used some browser plug-ins to help us check the scheduling website constantly throughout the day (there were no dates available at first). Even doing this, we ended up waiting 2.5 months for our interview.

The interview itself was pleasant with friendly staff and no surprises. The interview itself was conducted in English and lasted only about five minutes, after about a three hour wait. Questions included: How long were you together? Where is the petitioner working? How many times have you seen each other in the last year? What is his favorite food? Have ... read complete review
