Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My husbands interview time was 9am. He was let in at 8:30am. At 9 they called him up & took the required documents. A little while later they called him up again & gave back certain documents that they said they didn't need. He waited 3 hours until his number was called for the interview. He says the waiting was the toughest part LOL. He was sworn in & then the woman asked when we met, how did our relationship evolve, when did we get married, how much do I visit him & if either of us has been married before. He said the woman was very nice & polite. She told him that everything looked good but that we needed to upload my and our sponsors 2017 1040 tax forms. We had only sent 2016 to NVC since it was at the end of March...and even though my husband had our 2017 tax forms at the interview, she handed them back to him & said that they just needed to be uploaded to CEAC. She gave him form 221-G & highlighted where it said to upload taxes & she said for us to email the embassy after we comp... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

My fiance and I got to the embassy around 7:45am for his 8:30am appointment. I think the embassy opens at 8am because he was only second in line. I had emailed the embassy to see if I could enter (answer was no) and there's actually a large permanent plaque on the wall that says petitioners cannot enter.

We were staying at Hotel Best right across the street (200 TL a night when we showed up with no reservation), so I went back to the hotel to wait. I was planning to head back to wait at the embassy after ~2 hours, but my fiance showed up at the hotel room barely 30 minutes after he entered. He said that everything went very smoothly despite all the staff stopping work for 15 minutes due to either a drill or threat where they all hid under their desks.

As others have mentioned, the first woman he spoke with was very unpleasant and curt with him (I think this must be intentional to put people on edge). She asked him for all his documents and tried to give hi... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Overall a very pleasant experience. First I went through security. My appointment was at 8 a.m. and I entered at 7:30 a.m. Electronic devices were not allowed. There were very few immigrant visa applicants so the wait was not too long. I received a number. When the number was called, I provided the necessary paperwork (photos, police record, family records, I-134, evidence of the relationship). The woman was Turkish. She was quite rude and it definitely made me nervous. Then I waited about two hours for my number to be called again. I went to a second window and spoke with a very nice (Turkish) woman who had me swear to tell the truth. Then she asked the following questions:
How and when did you meet?
What were you doing when you met?
What was she doing when you met?
When did you see her last?
How did you propose?
What are her mother and father's names?
Have you met her family?
What kind of wedding will you have?
Will you ... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Super quick and easy once he went in. He was the first appointment of the day (though he had a 30-40 minute wait). He had a 7:30 am appointment. They took his passport and did a search etc the usual procedures when entering an embassy. They did a safety check of the documents with the brush and x-ray. He was given two slips with a number on it (a kind of receipt) - one for finger printing and one for the interview.
There was then a document check. He handed them over and was told to wait. Though we had an overwhelming amount of evidence with us they didn't take any of it. He had to take an oath (telling the truth etc).
They asked how we met and when. They also asked where I (spouse in the US) live.
That was it. No other questions for us. Probably because I previously provided a ridiculous amount of evidence.
After that, they said that the visa was approved and that he would receive it in 5-7 business day. They also gave him a documents that states his rig... read complete review
