Review Topic: K1 Visa

I went to the embassy at exactly seven in the morning. I was very tense. Then I entered the embassy and took my number. Then they called me to take all the original and translated papers from me. Half an hour later they called me again. Then they asked me how long ago you were in Turkey. Did you leave Turkey last 30? One day, how did you meet? Did you meet again and how long did your relationship last, and after that she told me congratulations, you got a visa, you were approved

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Ankara Embassy apparently became much busier since the last time I had been there, which was for F-1 visa at the time, but the staff is very professional and they still manage to be kind and friendly despite increasing volume of applications and growing security concerns.

Only person who was mean-spirited and thoroughly unpleasant was the clerk, who was, but of course, a Turkish lady. She took my documents initially and asked questions that hardly make any sense. Asked me why I didn't change my passport to my married name, although the passport was good for another whole year. She insisted to hear my husband's job description in Turkish, which was pretty uncalled for. It was her tone and demeanor mostly that was insufferable. I believe another reviewer also mentions her, so I rest my case, i believe i wasted enough time on her , being the exception.

The consular officer, in a stark contrast, was a refined gentleman, who was very professional. Y... read complete review

The interview was very easy. The entire process took around an hour. The consular officer only asked 3 or 4 questions. They didn’t ask me for anything else.
