Overall, the process was smooth and took me an hour.

My interview was at 7.30am but I got there at 6.30 when the line was still short. I asked a security guard what I should do and showed her my appointment letter. She told me to just check in at the security window at 7.15am, so I just waited on the side. However, when the checkers came out, I was told to be in line. Lesson learned, just line up till you see the ladies in blue shirt (checkers).

After passing the security, I checked in at one counter where they put a sticker on my passport. It has the tracking # for EMS delivery so better copy that for your reference.

Next, I was called to a window where a Thai staff checked all my documents and asked me for my medical result and other original papers. This took about 15mins. I was even surprised to see all the documents, photos and other evidence from the USCIS are with them. It means, no need for additional evidence. BTW, the staff was ac... read complete review

My appointment was at 9:30 AM, I arrived at the embassy at 9:00. They asked for my passport, birth certificate, police clearance and marital status (single) certificate. Then they returned my birth certificate back to me.

Then I waited till I got to interview and finished around 11:00.

Here are the questions they asked me;
- Where did you meet your fiance?
- Why did he come to Thailand the first time he met you?
- Where does he live?
- What is his job?

And approved!

We walked to the consular building from our hotel (Jim's Lodge on the soi behind the embassy, recommended) arriving at 6:50 for her 7:30am interview on April 9. Lots of folks already there for a variety of visas. Stayed together until it was time for her to get in line under the canopy where her passport was checked against a list of appointments. (Canopy was a nice touch since I was there last). She entered the building right after her appointment was verfied, all together about 15 minutes from our arrival. Met another guy who also accompanied his fiance and we crossed the pedestrian bridge to get coffee and wait.
She handed over her phone and purse, went through the metal detector and was directed to a seating area. K1 visa applicants were called to line up with their passports and were given a Thailand Post EMS label where the applicants were instructed to enter a mailing address and take a seat in the waiting area. (NOTE: bring a pen and paper so you can write down the EMS... read complete review
