Very easy process. The officer was quick and only asked a couple of basic questions (where did you meet, where is your fiancee living, etc.). Confirmed at the moment that the K1 visa was granted, and that I could pick it up in a week at the Correos office.

Was a long waiting time: almost 4 hours in the Embassy. The Embassy staff were nice.

Overall it was a great experience. The employees were very helpful and compassionate. We arrived at 9:30 for our 10am interview. They took our papers around 10:30, then we waited for our interview and were all finished around 11:30 am. In the interview itself, the primary questions were in regards to how we met and basic individual identification questions.

Interview was fast and easy. They only asked me how we met, what I plan to do in the US and if we know each others family. They told me I was approved that same moment and to expect to receive my visa in less than 2 weeks.
I got my visa at my home address on April 3rd.

An officer first reviewed all my documents and I handed her over my medical exam, including the envelope with the X-ray, which I had picked up the day before at the clinic. Re medical exam, if you can I strongly recommend you get your vaccination story checked in Spain (already covered in the fee you have to pay in any case), as this will save you time and money when you file for AOS after marrying in the US - one of the supportive docs you need to file as part of the AOS application is evidence of compliance with the vaccination requirement. After waiting for about 5 min, a second officer carried out the interview - questions were straightforward: where and how I met my fiancé and when we got engaged and decided to apply for the k1 visa. Once the interview is over, they tell you whether your visa is approved or not. Allow approx one week for them to send you the visa. They send you a ... read complete review
