Yesterday got my interview. Approved! Now waiting for the Embassy to send me back my passport together with the visa! Everyone has been very nice. It took just a bit more than an hour to me. I got called in on time (my interview was exactly at noon). A lady just asked me to give her all the forms requested (everything was fine) and she even told me that there was no need to give her any evidence of ongoing relationship (had I known this a bit before...I could have finished my package earlier...oh well, the important thing is getting approved!). Then came the interview with another employee...I didn't have the watch with me but I don't think it lasted more than 5-6 minutes. Easy questions: How did you meet your fiancée? Why did she come to Spain? How long have you been living in Spain? (As you might see from our profile I am an Italian citizen with Spanish residence). Have you ever met each other's family? What kind of job does your fiancée do in US? What kind of job do you think you ... read complete review

I have had very good experiences with this Embassy, from requesting the registry of birth abroad of my son to additional pages in my passport to the visa process with my husband. They are quick to respond via email and that is the method I would use to contact them.
Our interview was on a Tuesday and there was another person interviewing the same day as us (not sure what for, but he had the medical in the same place we did), so info that interviews are only on Wednesday is inaccurate.
Our medical was in the centro angloamericano on Monday, you do need to take vaccinaton records and the paper that the embassy sends with their address on it. The exam was expensive but quick, and as someone who has lived in Spain for a while, waiting 15 minutes for x-rays seemed like a miracle.
We picked up the results at 11:30 on Tuesday and walked to the embassy, arriving at 12. They take your electronics but since we have a baby we were allowed to take in... read complete review

The interview itself was fine. Everyone was friendly and it was an easy process. However, they failed to mail our visa timely, which was annoying because my wife had to miss the wedding of our close friends. No one at the consulate was helpful in locating the visa/explaining why it hadn't been mailed/telling me anything at all. I was forced to contact my senator, which was another waste of time. We waited, which seems particularly silly after spending so much time waiting, and finally it came. The reason for it's tardiness was ridiculous: they simply did not mail the document.
Well, that's August in Madrid!

Hello to everyone,
First of all I would like to thank everyone on this site - their information, forums, and comments really help you through the whole process. There is just so much information out there (some good, some bad) and sometimes it feels overwhelming. This site has helped us with the process and that´s why I think it´s also important to share information and personal experiences with others here - to give back and to ultimately help others who are or will soon be in the same situation as the rest of us. With that said....
Our journey was with the Madrid Embassy in Spain. I will be relating some of this post to the information already posted on the Madrid embassy on this site, and the rest of this post will be on our personal experiences and opinions....any feedback is more than welcome of course!
The interview for my wife (the Spanish citizen) was scheduled by the NVC for March 8 at 15.00, which was a Thursday afternoon. Obviou... read complete review
