1st off: U.S. Embassy Manila has gotten a make over and it's nice inside! waiting area is different as well. Early birds, the waiting area is now at the end of foot bridge closest to the embassy.

got there at 4:30 AM for 6:30 appt. few people. umbrella hawkers are in full swing. do yourselves a favor, if it looks like rain, bring an umbrella. those people will charge you for your arm or a leg. also if you cannot leave your cell phone at home because you're just that stubborn, they charge a kidney to keep it at the store. (P150)

here's a tip. don't listen to the hawkers saying this line is for tourist visas and this line is for immigrants. STAY CLOSE TO THE SIDEWALK. there is no line. the security guard will call out the appt times and tell you to line up. do yourself a favor and rush towards him. that little tip right there will save you at least an hour inside. we were literally the 1st interview and approval.

once they start letting you in... read complete review

My appointment on August 2 was at 6:45 am. I arrived at the embassy at around 6 am. It took more than an hour before they let me in the embassy. Applicants had to stand at the waiting area outside the embassy. People selling umbrella that day must have made a lot of money because it was so windy and it was raining hard that people wanted bigger umbrellas.

Before they let me enter the premises, they wanted to see my appointment letter and my passport. They sticked something at the back of my passport and they gave me a number (that will be your number whenever they transact with you).

Then I have to go through the security check. Food, drinks, cellphones and other electronics are not allowed.

After that, I have to fall in line again. The lady checked if I have all my DS forms and the MRV receipt. She told me to drop them at window 39.

It took 2 hours before I got called for the finger scanning at window 41. I got called again... read complete review

I had my interview yesterday, August 2 @ the 6:15am schedule. I arrived at USEM around 6am on a very rainy Tuesday morning. I stood in line for the Immigrant/Fiance section. There was a preliminary check done before going in for the security check inside the bldg. The person gave a slip of paper with a sticker with a barcode on it which was for the 2go delivery. He also checked the DS forms, appt letter, etc. After the security check, you will be led to another line with 3 windowed-counters where they will check again all the docs the 1st person checked. Then they will collect, staple all the docs & give you a numbered stub & ask you to drop it off at Window 39 inside the building. After dropping off the docs, the waiting game begins. So from waiting outside to dropping off the docs, 45 mins has already passed. After an hour, my # was called to the pre-screener window. There, the lady was already going through my DS forms. I was asked for the NSO docs (birth cert, CENOMAR), NBI clearan... read complete review

all the reviews here prepared me for the general process. i know its hard but don't be nervous. i went with my fiance. i was extremely nervous because last year i only made 8k i got the women with brown curly hair who if you read a lot of reviews you will see and i will confirm that she is really nice.

good luck an dont worry, you have no reason to be denied in less you are committing fraud =)
