Review Topic: K1 Visa

i'm the petitioner (USC), here is our experience with the process from the beginning.........
last time we met was Aug 2011, spent the whole time in Philippines from Aug 2011-Jan 2012 with her, then Jan 2012 i have to come back to US, to work and start the process, I searched about getting my GF here and found alot of choices, at first i called FilipinaFianceVisa, they said everything will cost me almost $2000, so i said forget it, i searched again and found VisaJourney, i spent a whole week reading comments, post, threads about K1 process and the married one, after those readings i talked to her about what i read, she said "i'm here to help you out", so there it is, i started the process, February 1, 2012, gathered all the Documents from my side, (US Passport, Naturalization, Birth Certificate, Parents Naturalization, Parents Passports, Divorce Decree, you name it everything that has to do with me), then the next day i told her to gather everything too. then After a week, i fol... read complete review

I am sorry if i wasn't able to post this on the day of my interview, i am still out of myself yesterday couldn't believe i was APPROVED! The phrase "God is Good" is an under statement, HE IS GREAT and ALMIGHTY! I don't think me and my husband can do this without his help.. not to mention a whole bunch of his and my family praying for our approval and considered our interview day as our big day.

Our visa application is very complicated because of the legal issues i have, it even took 35-40 minutes for my interview with the american officer. She grilled me and let me explain the facts and circumstances of my legal impediments. She was so serious looking, not even smiling so that's just got me real scared. I was really ready to hear from her " Sorry your visa is disapproved" when she looked at me and told me " The US embassy doesn't have problem with you and your paper-works looks good.. so i am issuing u and ur son a visa". I was stunned and asked her again if i heard he... read complete review

My interview was simple and easy, i thought its too scary but i was wrong. My fiance is with me for my interview, and it helps for me because we both interviewed by the american console. She asked a few question to my fiance. When she saw my fiance she said "oh are you the petitioner? OK Since your fiance is present i don't need to asked you what his name. Then asked my fiance some question like: how many times you been here? What is your position in United Airlines? Did you fly too much? My fiance said NO i don't fly i do a ground job like bags just lead ramp service. Like i am responsible about all the bags of the passenger etc. Then she asked me, "where and when did you met? When the console found out that we just met last year she said "oh so it was love at first sight" Then my question for me are, "have you been outside the country before? do you have kids? why did you plan to get married there since your family and friend lives here? I answer her wi... read complete review

It was not very difficult, just mostly waiting. Arrived at 5am for the 6:15 am scheduled appt. Just got in line for what was a first come first served approach. Many there since 3 am. First guard review was at 7 am, needed 2 (TWO) copies of the appointment letter and Passport. Go through security check, then on to window where the all important ticket number is assigned (6153) was the lucky number. Then go to seating area by 7:30 am and watch board. -standing room only so we were put outside and it was getting warmer by the minute. 9am ..finally called to the biometrics window. After two attempts prints were able to be recorded. Then more waiting...10 am pre-interview. Basic questions and pleasant. Did look at wedding photos. More waiting....11:45 am most were gone, and number was flashing..Nice CO who repeated most of questions. Also wanted to see wedding photos..specifically with the present family members. The CO had some problem finding the information related to my divorce decree ... read complete review

02:30AM - Woke Up

04:30AM - Off to the USEM

05:00AM - Arrived at USEM

06:00AM - At "Immigrant Visa and K1 Applicant" line, present your passport with the appointment letter. They will give you a zip-lock bag and put bar codes on your appointment letter and passport. Then went direct to door number 2 intended for Visa Applicants here they will check your stuff and pass thru a scanner. My husband entered door number 1 as that door was intended for American citizens. You will then be leaded by a railings and on one of those windows they will ask for your bar-coded appointment letter and give you a number, mine was "6087". They will tell you what to do next. You will pass by a Snack Bar area, you can also sit there while waiting for your number to flash and eat at the same time. Entered another door and passed thru a scanner again and gave my appointment letter to the USEM staff just facing towards me after the scan.
