First of all, i just want to thank visajourney for helping us in almost every details & questions t'was bugging me throughout this k1 visa process. People here are so helpful. Thank you guys!
Oct. 29, 2012: Arrived in USem around 5:30 for our 7:30 appointment. I'm with my fiancé during this big day. We waited 'til the guard called the IV applicants for 7:30. Lined up for inspection of DS forms, qppointment letter & passport put inside a ziploc.
6:15 - was already inside the embassy after going thru security check, got our lucky # 6003, dropped DS forms at window 39. USC's enter thru a different door & they will leave their electronic devices with the guard w/ claim ID.
6:40 - Pre-screened by Filipino officer @ window 53. She was nice. She got my other requirements (passport, nbi, nso, cenomar, I-134, IRS, pay stubs & employment letter). She only asked me "How did you meet?" then she asked my fiance about his 2011 W2's & my fiance explained to her that it is already included in the IRS we submitted but my fiancé ended up providing the W2's. Thank God he took with him all documents with regards to his taxes. Questions asked to my fiance: Is he married before? How many kids? When did you arrive? How many times you visited her? then she asked if we have photos or other evidences & I was about get it from my folder but she said just show it to the consul if asked. She smiled & said thank you & responded the same.
7:00 - biometrics at window 43
8:00 - Interview with the American CO @ window 60. I was not nervous while waiting for the final interview but when we went to the window & saw the CO I was stunned coz he really looks like "Matt Damon" (damn! I am a big fan! lol!). Me & my fiance swore about telling the truth & nothing but the truth and so on...he first asked me these questions: How did we meet? when was the first time you met in person? Did i work abroad? Do i have kids? Ever been married before? and then questions asked to my fiance were if he was married before? how many kids? date of finality of his divorce? what does he do for a living? where are we planning to stay in US? when did we get engage? then he browsed on his I-134 and asked again how many household currently living w/ my fiance? then t'was it. He said your information looks good & just wait for further instructions. We did not have a chance to ask if we were approved. Mr. "Matt Damon" did not mention the magic words "visa approved!" nor "welcome to the US!" but he just smiled & thanked us so we responded accordingly. We left the window clueless lol!
8:40 - window 71 for visa delivery/pick-up instructions. The only time we realized we were approved lol!
Overall, it was a nice experience. We heard from one of the officers that today they only have few IV applicants probably because people think that it'll be better to have the interview after the "all saints day" rather than have it before since we only have 3 working days this week. We were fortunate enough who had it today coz it wasn't a long day for us, almost 3 hrs. & we were done. It pays to have your fiancé during the interview. Since he was asked a lot more than i did...i guess it's just right to say "He nailed it!" lmao!
All for God. All by God. Thank you & Good luck everyone on your upcoming interview!
