According to my sweet asawako, the interview went very well. Everything was in order (papers and forms)and the experience with the embassy staff was pleasant.

Everything went well for the most part.... a bit chaotic in the beginning -- being herded like cattle by the guards outside into lines. Be aware that non-US citizens are NOT allowed to bring any kind of cellphone into the Embassy. There are people (non-US Embassy employees) that offer to "hold" your cellphones for you for a price of 200pesos. Sounded a bit sketchy to me. Luckily I (the US Petitioner) was allowed to bring our cellphones inside the Embassy and check them with the guard...otherwise we would have just taken them back to our car. To it's best to just leave them at home or the hotel to avoid any confusion.
Once inside, things were OK... YES, a TON of waiting... Most of the officials were very polite and helpful. The man who did my husband's biometrics was very grumpy (even seemed a bit hung-over)... so I quickly prayed that we would not have to deal with him again...and luckily we didn't. There are many "visa greeters" there who are readily able to answer any questio... read complete review

Received conditional approval pending delivery of the following documents: Petitioner's recent IRS tax return and W-2 forms. Also beneficiary's NSO document proving she was never married. Docs are on the way and we are awaiting approval.
When going for interview you should download and complete forms 156, 157 and 156k, didn't know that in advance.

Appt was for 730am, got there about 630....looong line. Was was by the pedestrian bridge. Surpisingly it went pretty quick and was inside before 730. Interview was easy...seems like they go easier on those that have their fiance with them. They asked a couple ordinary questions (where/when/how you met, what my job was). Took a little while waiting for the interviews...was approved before lunch but had to wait around till after lunch for her final instructions and for them to double-check the spelling of her name. However, they didn't double-check my name and misspelled it on the visa!
