Review Topic: K1 Visa

Note: I wrote this on June 25th. But posted it only today, July 2nd, 2013.

I’ve only decided to write about this US Embassy Manila / Consulate experience today (June 25th and releasing it online after my visa gets issued... [EDIT: still not issued. Still being held at AP]) because I’d like to do this as calmly and objectively as possible (at least try to be), and of course, avoid further possible “delays” that might arise from me speaking up.

Short story: My fiancé, Christopher, was here for my interview and we showed up at the Manila US Embassy New Office Annex Building (NOX1) and was neither denied nor approved. I (the Beneficiary) was belittled by Consular Officer. They kept my passport and we got a 221(g) sheet asking for more financial documentation from him. Denied co-sponsorship, he's graduating soon.

EDIT: We sent his updated employment letter, job offer; He's past the 100% poverty guidelines and barely short of 125% but wh... read complete review

Review Topic: F-2A Visa

My interview was initially set on 13 May 2013, they had to change it as it was Election day. Had my interview rescheduled on 17 May 2013 at 615. I was at the embassy before 5AM. Long line already, was able to enter by 630. I got a queue number but calling of number is not in order, i think they prioritize applicants with family/children, seniors and with disabilities before calling single applicants. Wait time between each step was long had to wait 90 minutes before i was called for biometrics, then about 45 minutes for initial screening, interview was only about 5 minutes where he asked for my original NBI and Marriage certificate, had to ask the name of my petitioner twice, i think he does not have any questions prepared, just asked if i visited USA before. Had to wait another 30 mins before my interview with the consular officer, basic questions were asked ie how long i have been married, name of my petitioner, my name, etc, i think IV was over in 5-10 minutes, was instructed to wai... read complete review

Some tips:
I woke up at 3:30 in the morning, took a shower and while on the shower my breakfast was delivered too. I ate and then put my clothes on and put a light make up on...Went down and I didn't know that the car service was there waiting for me..It's already 4:55 when I went down..So the driver drove me to the embassy and got there at exactly 5:00 in the morning..The line wasn't that long for K1 but there were lots of applicants tho for different visa type. So while I was on the line and since I had a friend (sissy on fb) that I was talking the night before my interview and we had the same date too I waited her there because we had the agreement that we will wait each other outside. Then, 3 minutes later she( Dajen Capuyan) arrived there at the embassy.. So we were talking and said "hi, hello" and etc. While talking the guard called us ( K1 applicant) to move forward.. While we were on the line the lady(crew there at the embassy) told us to prepare all the DS forms:

I saw some Filipinas with their fiances beside them, how i wished my Glenn was with me too.
