Required documents: NBI, BIRTH CERTIFICATE, CENOMAR, PASSPORT, EMBASSY APPT. LETTER, DS-160.

Petitioner present during interview. USC can check in electronic devices.
Depending on interviewer, they may require I-134 and/or Proof of continued relationship.

Our interviewer only asked a few questions (did not ask for any other supporting evidence nor I-134)
*where/when did you meet
*how did you meet
*did fiance meet your family
*what do your parents think about your fiance
*what job does your fiance have that he can visit 4 times in a year.

VISA Approved!

In the embassy at 645, left embassy at 815.

Thank you VJ. I spent countless hours reading your guides and forums. Such a help! I knew exactly what to expect.

My interview was scheduled for 6:45AM, I got there around 6:30AM and they were already lining people up to enter. You'll need to show your passport and DS-160 at the entrance outside. They put a barcode on your DS-160 and ask you to line up with everyone else. You basically don't need your appointment confirmation letter - they never asked me for it.

Inside, they first do data entry, where you again, show your passport and DS-160. They just encode your data and ask you to sit down again. Then, you go for a pre-screening interview with a Filipino consul. They ask for the ORIGINAL copies of: Birth Certificate, CENOMAR, and NBI Clearance, along with the brown sealed envelope you got from your medical at SLEC. I unfortunately didn't have an original copy of my birth certificate (forgot to order a new one in time for my interview), so I submitted a photocopy--more on this later. The consul asked me some questions, like how I met my fiance, and when we became an official coup... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Unfortunately I got 221g for the following items:

1. ROM Record Search under Maiden Name. I have one with me but in my Married name.
2. Financial Evidence from my Joint Sponsor. They want to see her 2016 Tax Return since 2015 is lower than the poverty guidelines. Despite of her current pay stubs submitted.

It was nerve wracking experience given my circumstances. My husband has 2 felonies on his record and we are relying on our joint sponsor to meet the financial requirements. My husband previous income wont cut it though this year is better.

So I arrived at 8:45AM, my appointment is at 9:30AM. The guard let me in and had me pass a scanner and my bags for xray. I didn't bring any electronics so just went through quick and off I go. The next security staff checked my bag again and let me pass through another scanner.

A staff was waiting and directing you as to where the interview section is. I was given a queue number a... read complete review

221 (g) at first interview. Jaz went to the interview and everything was fine until they got to her NBI. She had name and sex errors on her original Birth Certificate but got them corrected in 2012 so the CO ( a man ) told her no problem, VISA is pending, get an updated NBI for her incorrect original name as well as her correct updated name. She did that and sent it in.

Then they called and said she was scheduled for a 2nd interview and to bring government issued IDs and anything else that proved who she was. 3 days before her second interview, a female CO called her and told her to bring the court order used to change her Birth Certificate.

The law on changing name and sex errors on Birth Certificates (RA#10172)was changed on August 15, 2012 but did not go into effect at all locations until sometime after that. I suspect Jaz's lawyer may have been hired to make the changes prior to the new law so there probably should have been a court order but the que... read complete review
