221 (g) at first interview. Jaz went to the interview and everything was fine until they got to her NBI. She had name and sex errors on her original Birth Certificate but got them corrected in 2012 so the CO ( a man ) told her no problem, VISA is pending, get an updated NBI for her incorrect original name as well as her correct updated name. She did that and sent it in.

Then they called and said she was scheduled for a 2nd interview and to bring government issued IDs and anything else that proved who she was. 3 days before her second interview, a female CO called her and told her to bring the court order used to change her Birth Certificate.

The law on changing name and sex errors on Birth Certificates (RA#10172)was changed on August 15, 2012 but did not go into effect at all locations until sometime after that. I suspect Jaz's lawyer may have been hired to make the changes prior to the new law so there probably should have been a court order but the que... read complete review

I encountered two american CO first was the one taking the biometrics it was 25th of Nov (american time) so i greeted her happy thanksgiving and it was so nice of her to smile and greet me back then the second was the final interview at first i thought he was strict well technically he was, he wasn't smiling either that adds to my nervousness LOL but I did well, answered everything he asked and showed him my proof of relationship (scrapbook) then he said MY VISA APPROVED!

Scheduled for 6:45am. Done before 8pm. Process is organized and quick.

You had to go through data entry/verification(?) and then consul interview (filipino), fingerprinting and then the american consul interview.

The consul just asked me of the ff;
My name/Fiancee's name
Our age
How we met
When I last saw him
How many times he visited
How he proposed
Where he lives/his occupation
If he got kids
If I have been out of the country/ which countries
My current occupation

She gave me the violence against women pamphlet and told me I passed the interview. My visa will be delivered by mail 7-10 days and that's it.

No documents, pictures or any other proof of relationship was asked to present. You just need to be confident on how you answer the questions. Be also clear when speaking. I saw several applicants wherein the other consuls and the same consul who int... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Interview date : December 8th

I got there at 7am, my schedule was 8.15am. There was a queuing area, just right outside the embassy. The applicants lined up according to their schedule in that queue area. It would have been good, except that those who assisted looked a bit confused as well with where to put K1 applicants. I mean initially I went to the 8.15 non immigrants line. But then someone among the embassy assistants told all k1s to line up at the immigrant line, so we did. Then someone called all K1s to approach the area near the gate at 7.45 so we all went to the gate, wearing our heels and all, only to be told to walk back to the queuing area and line up again under the immigrants line.

It was okay, I am not complaining, it was just inconvenient not knowing where to go. I know k1 visa is classified as a non immigrant visa, but, is also classifies as "immigrant" in some embassy tracking system. We, the k1 applicants, were as confused as the assisti... read complete review
