Entered the Embassy around 9:20 am
I arrived around 9 am and there were a few people in line. There was a person making sure all applicants were in the right line. After seeing my appointment appeared in his list, he put me in front of the line so that I could enter on time (even though I was about an hour early). At the queue, you are requested to have in hand your 'Appointment Letter', passport and photos. In my opinion there is no benefit from being there in line 2 or 3 hours in advance. A father sponsoring his teenage son got in at 8 am, with an interview scheduled for 10:30 am, so he had to wait all those hours, as the Embassy goes by the appointment letter stated time.
After you passed security, and then walked to the waiting area (patio area), you are given a pamphlet with instructions on how to ensamble your documents.

Appointment scheduled at 10:15 am
The interview is conducted in two parts. In the first part, I was called to a window to sub... read complete review

I was scheduled for 7:30 am, my husband and I arrived around 6:30am and lined up. There was a separate and shorter line for those applying for immigrant visas. Around 7 am we were allowed into the building and asked to take a seat and wait for my name to be called out. After a quick wait we were called to window 13 where a lady asked for my police records, marriage certificate, birth certificate, original AOS and medical results. I was also asked about previous US visas, I showed my previous 2 passports containing the visas. Then, I was given a paper regarding domestic violence, had my fingerprints taken and we were asked to sit down again and wait for the consul to call us. A few minutes later, the consul called my name and we were instructed to approach another window, number 9. The consul was a very nice and kind man. He asked my husband and I to raise our right hand and swear we were saying the truth, then he asked where and when we met, where we each went to college and in which s... read complete review

Our experience/observations:
1) Arrive early. 45-60 mins minimum. There are two lines to go through, first to check in for the appointment, and security. Personally, its stressful when I am not on time so arriving early helps keep the stress to a minimum.
2) Dress appropriately. Wear something that is conservative, not too casual or overly formal. Business casual is good. No short skirts, t-shirts/jeans.
3) Prepare for the interview. Please make sure you have all your documents in order for the consulate interview. Print the list the consulate sends you and check off each item in order, at minimum the night before. For our interview, we had all of our documents organized in the order of the check list, and also brought copies of our I-129F petition just in case.
4) Be patient. Plan for 4 hours of waiting. We waited almost 2 hours before we were called the first time to submit the documents for the appointment (police records, medical exam, I-134), th... read complete review

My fiance and I went together to the embassy. He planned to attend with me because we read that, for the Peruvian embassy it was highly recommended to do it. Our appointment was at 11:30am so we arrived at 10:30 to the US embassy. We entered and they asked me my passport and the appointment letter. We passed the security point and they asked us to enter in a big hall, where all the windows for interviews are. They asked us to seat at the end of the room and to wait until my name was called. We waited over there like 30 minutes until I was called to a window. The woman at the window was a really nice and polite person, she asked me all the documents and she just kept putting them all together in a folder. She gave me a cd with the results for my medical exam, she said I needed to take them with me to the airport for the POE. In addition, she gave me a paper of domestic violence and an oath that I needed to read at the moment of the interview.

We waited 30 more minutes a... read complete review

Hello everyone, January 4th was our interview. The first thing I can say is this is really not as scary as I thought it would be. We had a ton of evidence like plane tickets, bus tickets, money transfers, photos, wedding party receipts, and a baby on the way. Still, I was worried being that we had not mutual rent contract or bills but doesn't matter. I've been staying in Peru with my husband most of this process and I think them seeing us together made it easier. The medical exam was done and the price of your vaccines really depends. For my husband it was a lot cheaper than we thought. The day of our interview we came with out cell phones or purse, just papers in hand. Our interview was for 8:45 AM but we arrived at 6:30 AM. During the day there is a stand that holds your things for 5 soles but it wasn't there that early in the morning. They didn't make us wait outside until our appointment. We were 5th in line and we went right in. It seemed that people were called to the window acco... read complete review
