Appointment was at 1pm
Got there at 8am due to far distance from my home; I left too early not to be stuck in traffic
I was asked to wait till 12pm
Waited at the car park till 11:50am, then I went in again
Documents collected
marriage certificate
interview appointment letter
Police certificate
Attestation of birth (very important....plz get it, if you don't have it)
Divorce decree( if any)
chats, phone record, pictures
Tax transcripts
Affividat of support
I just carried as much Documents as I can
Better to be over prepared 😌
Questions asked
How did you meet your spouse?
When did you see him last?
can't remember all
cos it was all like a dream
But in all, it's just about how well you know your spouse....
All the best!
And I hope this helps!

My interview was rescheduled from 2/8/2022 to 4/21/2022. I made sure I got to the US consulate Lagos on time (6.30)while appointment was 8:30am.I queued up for security check after which I got into the main hall for the interview.I was called up at window 17 for document verification and submission, then went and sat down waiting for my turn for the interview. After what seemed like one hour, I was called to window 21 for my interview by a young man.It was more like conversational.
Questions: You are …….,I said yes, where does your wife live and work? And for how long has she worked there? If I have married before?Do I have children, does my wife has children? For how long has we been married?what do I do for a living and if I will continue with that in USA?The interview lasted a bit longer because his system was slow but at the end of the day?he approved my immigrant visa application. He told me it will be ready between one to two weeks.

Hello VJers. I would like to thank you guys so much for your support during my application process. I had my interview today and it was approved. It feels so surreal. From my experience i’ll give you these advice.
1. Arrive early even if your interview is at 7 be there at 5:30
2. Arrange your documents in order to save time
3. The questions are simple. They’re no exam questions just questions about your relationship and don’t lie, they already know everything.
4. Even if you’re nervous take a deep breath and be confident cause when you’re confident everything will work in your favor and
5. Look good, good looks always save the day ðŸ˜ðŸ˜˜ðŸ˜œ

My husbands interview went well. He arrived early, but locked Ll his documents in his car and had to get someone to come open his car. He said the consular was a man and he looked pretty intimidating but once he started the interview he was more at ease with him. Questions asked were Who is calling for you. He answered. How did you meet your wife, why did you choose to marry someone older. He said he didn't think age was a factor, it's all about finding the right person for me. Asked if I had been to Nigeria and he said yes 3 times. Not too many more questions but he did look at my husband's school papers and his degrees. My advice to any of you is to get a notebook and organize, organize, organize so you are not fumbling around. After the interview, he was given the presidential proclamation paper and 4 days later he received his visa. He arrived in the US on January 23, 2021.
