A very smooth experience over all. I had my interview on Dec. 12th at 1.30 pm. I arrived at the consulate at 1.15 pm and there were some people waiting but those of us with interview letters were let in first. We got our ID and our bags checked and we were scanned with a metal detector. At a 2nd security check we had to leave our cellphone and other electronics in a locker room. We then formed a line in front of a window where a nice lady took my payment receipt, birth cert (she checked the original and kept the copy i' brought), spanish police cert, passport, photos, and affidavit of support and asked me to sit and wait. I was called about 10-15 mins later to another window where a super nice guy told me my papers were all perfect, and when he saw i was born and raised in Spain, told me how much he loves Andalucia and proceeded to interview me in almost perfect spanish! I say interview but it was more a conversation about the place i grew up. He then asked how long ago I met Tim, when... read complete review

We finally did get the great news that my interview was scheduled on oct.17 2006.
The week before I first had my medical. The x-ray was pretty easy and was fast spent money
At the doctor the asked me to hand them the filled out papers and the doctor called me in for bloodwithdrawal to check on HIV and Syffilis. The medical was so easy, weighing, lenght and check my lungs and bloodpressure.
Important is to have your vaccinationsrecords up to date. People born before 1985, need a MMR shot, because they diodn't give these to kids before them as a cocktail.

The day at the embasy went easy aswell. The only thing that wasn't good were my passport size picture, eventhough telling the photographer, they didn't approve of the size and I was sent back to get the right size taken somewhere in Amsterdam, luckily there was one close by .
I handed my pictures, affidavit and after I had to wait for about half an hour.
I was called to... read complete review

I arrived at the Consulate at 12.30, totally nervous of course. There were already 3 people waiting in front of the gate and while the time passed more people joined. Around 1.15 pm a guard came to the gate and asked who was there with an appointment letter for an immigrant visa. I was number 4 and he let 5 of us inside the gates. I went through the security check and was told to wait with the others in front of a door. There I had to go through another security check and was told to go to booth 5, but that was where everyone was told to go to. When it was my time to go to the booth I was met by a very friendly Dutch guy. He asked me for my name and my passport. He asked for my bank statement which showed you paid the fee and the pics + birth certificate. He also asked for the I-134 + supporting documents. He gave me my xray back and told me to wait untill my name would be called. About 30 minutes later a lady called my name up to a booth, asked me to raise my right hand, asked me to s... read complete review

So, that morning after a horrible night of sleep, i was pretty anxious and headachee...i think from nerves, but by the time I arrived in Amsterdam i felt fine again..Once I got to the Consulate I was 45 minutes to early and the first one to arrive, after that pretty soon a whole line was forming by the gates, around 13:35 this guard comes out and lets groups of 3 coming in, we have to show him our invite we received with the last package, we have to empty our pockets and he`s starting to scan us one by one with a handheld metaldetector and tell us to line up again by the door, after like 5 minutes I was allowed to go in as first, i came by this glass window where another guard told me to empty my pockets again and walk through a metaldetector, my keys and my cellphone I had to leave behind to pick up after eveything would be done.
We were sent to a waiting room, where I was almost instantly called to a booth, this real friendly Dutch guy asked me for some forms, told me what expe... read complete review
