Duane arrived around 6:30 for his 7:30 appt. the security came down the line asked to see paper work and passport. He was told to go to front of the line, gets inside and does his fingerprints and is given a paper to write his information on. He finally gets called to window and he states the guy was an older gentlemen who was nice.

He asked about 5-10 questions.
How you met?
How long have he known me?
Who i have in JA?
Where did i live before the US (BAHAMAS)
Who filed for me? (Mother)
Have he met my mother?
How many times she visted since we married?
Fif anyone come down from the US?
What she do for a living?
What company does she work for?
And did you know them before you got married?

And then he asked to see any proof of relationship Duane showed pictures and was asked to show him who came down from the US and he showed or Scotia Bank statement. And then he was told to go to the DHL to pay his fee and sign the Slective Service paper.

All in all, interview went smoothly. I would to thank Visa Journey for making this process easier than i expected.

My Fiancé made it to the Kingston Embassy about 10 mins to 8, his appointment was for 9:30 am, but he is anal about time so the earlier the better. He arrived and went through the security check where he was asked for all DS forms and required Photos. He made mention that the person checking the documents stated that he was to have 4 photos but he was not sure why. He had 2 so they stapled the pictures to the ds form and was told to have them available. He moved on to the security scanning to get his number which was about 8:14 am, his number was A149. He mentioned he had to pass this courtyard before getting the number then he went to the right and sat in the waiting area for about an hour. His number was called at window 5 and the lady there asked for all the required documents, did the finger print, and then he was told to be seated to wait for one of the consular to call him. He waited for about 2 hours when a white man at window 7 called him up. He stated how nervous he was; he thought everyone could see it all over him. But the man just asked him to raise his right hand and tell the truth and began his questioning:
Who are you going to see in the states? He said my full name
How long has she been in the states? He told them since I was 2 (true)
Who brought her to the states? He said my dad which was not true cause he was not sure but he guessed it was my dad.
Do you have any wedding plans set up yet? He said if he is approved he hope to be married on the 29th of this month. But we haven’t set anything officially yet.
Who will be attending? He told them my mom and dad
Will you have a large or small ceremony? He said small as his parents or family is not in the states
Where in the states will you be living? He gave my address
Have you ever traveled before? He said no

Burt offered more proof of our relationship and the guy said no that is fine just hand me your passport. He took it flipped through the pages, took out a small sheet of paper then tore it in half wrote something down, took his passport to the file attached it to a file then came back and said ok go to DHL.

He called me at 10 mins to 1 (his to 12) and gave me the good news. Ok he was approved!!!!

Review Topic: K1 Visa

We arrived at the embassy a bit early, but when we did there was no line and we were checked in right away. We went in, went through security, and out into the courtyard. There were people sitting to the left (we thought we needed to join the crowd...lol, but a lady told us no). Went into the embassy door where we were the only ones and he was checked in by another lady, gave a yellow paper and told to go through the door next to us. She told me to please take a seat in the courtyard.

I set in the courtyard for about an hour and watched people until a man came by and asked why we were sitting in the heat. He went to talk to security and to the lady who told us (USC) to sit there and about two mins later we were being apologized to and escorted inside so we could sit in the USC waiting room.  This was a great change but also painful because you could hear a lot going on on the other side of the wall.

AM said he sat and listened to others being interviewed. He was called up to have his papers checked and given his number A150. Then he sat and waited. He said there were people getting blue slipped for not having all info, needing a co-sponsor, etc., and said he saw people with pink and yellow also.

He was called at about 11:35am, I know this because they didn't call his number, but called his name to window 24 at which point I became so nervous, because at the same time someone was being questioned very loudly at window 9...and it wasn't sounding good.

He said he got a guy who was really cool. He was glad he didn't get the other guy because he was going through everything and asking detailed questions, making everyone nervous.  The guy he got asked him; how we met? how many times I had been to Ja? (he: 10)when was the last time? (he: she's out there now). He said he was surprised he didn't ask him more questions.  A said the the CO looked at our phone records and said. Wow you all talk a lot and laughed. A said yes, everyday and twice on the weekend. ( one of the phone bills had 90 calls for one month, thanks to Digicel international plan). He asked him why there were times he only talked for one or two mins...his answer: sometimes just to hear her voice :-). No other evidence looked at. Interview took 5 mins.

He came out, didn't see me and was headed towards DHL when I noticed him. I went out and he said why the long face and smiled. Then I knew. We were both so excited.

He paid DHL, with me asking him 30 million questions and we made the trip back to Ochi all smiles!!!

Review Topic: General Review

My wife and I arrive at the embassy at about 7:10am for my 7:30am appointment. We saw quite a few people already lined up in two lines, a long line and short line. We first left our digital devices and anything not allowed in the embassy with one of the persons outside who offered to keep them at a cost.

After approaching the line, we were greeted by a lady who works at the embassy, who then checked our documents. She directed us to the shorter line for immigrant visa and told my wife that because she was the petitioner, she will not be allowed into the interviewing area, but can wait in the court yard located inside the embassy compound.

We weren't let into the embassy until about 7:40am as they had to wait until each processing area had space before allowing more people from the outside to go in.

After going through security checks I was happy to see a snack shop inside the court yard, being that my wife is pregnant, at least there was some where for her to grab something small to eat until we got the chance to get a proper meal. We didn't really eat much due waking up early and rushing out to the embassy.

After leaving my wife in the court yard, I proceed through a metal door to the front desk and joined the line where I handed in my interview letter and was given a DHL yellow slip for visa delivery info as well as assigned a number and told to go to the section to the right.

When I got to that section, there were more than 40 people seated there. All the seats were filled so myself and those who had just arrived in that section had to stand by the counter to the right.

I stood there for an hour, then finally I was called to a window. It was a Jamaican lady. She asked to see my passport and medical results. She then finger printed me and told me to wait until an interviewer calls my name or my number.

I had to stand for more than an hour before seats finally became available. It was such a relief to finally get a seat as my feet were hurting plus I was hungry. Little did I know I had to wait another 2 hours before hearing my number called for an interview.

It was about 10:45am when I was called up to a window to be interviewed. I had a neat folder with documents and a lot of evidence filed in alphabetical order that my wife had helped me to prepare. I also had our photo album with our wedding pictures and pictures form our honeymoon and from her other trips.

The CO that I went to was a white American male, possibly in his late 20's to early 30's. He seemed very pleasant. He swore me in, then said, "so, your wife is filing for you? He then asked the following questions:
When did you get married?
What does your wife do for work?
When and how did you meet your wife?
When was the first time you met her?
How do you get to see her? I told him we do a lot of video chats with each other.
Where did you get married?
Is she from Jamaica?
When was the last time she visited? I told him she was here at the interview with me. When he heard that he ask if she had a small child with her waiting in the court yard, I told him no, and continued that she was only expecting. He responded ok, that's great. He asked to see the wedding photos and told me whenever he wanted me to flip through the pages. I took the initiative to identify each person in our wedding pics and told him what aspect of the wedding the pics were from and where they were taken. He was pleased with the pics so told me that everything looked great. He then asked for my passport and gave me a DHL ticket and told me to pay at the DHL window. He continued by saying, "that's it... have a great day." At which point I realized I was approved. I said thank you and left.

The interview lasted for about 5 minutes.
