Time at embassy = 1 hour and 15 mins, breakdown roughly as follows:
10 minute chat with friendly security
5 minutes at counter preparing documents with grumpy lady
45 minutes waiting
15 minute interview

Interview scheduled for 1.45 I arrived at security at 1.30. It was simple airport like security, they provide you with a locker to put your electronics in but I was allowed to bring my briefcase in with me for documents. Chatted to the friendly security guys for a while and entered the building at 1.45 to my name being called over the tannoy to go immediately to counter#3. I am glad I had prepared my documents frivolously as it was pretty quick from here on in. It was relatively quiet in there when arrived, not so when I was leaving,I'd advise to get there early and try to get in ASAP

The infamous grumpy Irish lady asked for;
my passport and one photo,
to write my name and address on my large envelope with €8 stamp... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Ok so I was unsure how this review would end up, as I was refused 3 times an F visa last year and that I supposed instilled some fear of refusal, but ive been to this Embassy many times for many visas and always had a pretty good experience other than the F Visa, which i guess was evident I wanted to be back with my Fiance, I was still going to attend school, but it all worked out for the best in the end.

My appointment was at 1PM, I arrived at the line outside at about 12.50PM. There was 3 people ahead of me and I was let in about 1.10PM. Go trough the airport like security which are friendly and on up to the consular section.

On this day it was not too busy at all and I think i may have been the only K1 interview there although not sure. We were not required to take a ticket number this day. So within minutes of entering I was called up to pay the fee. Sat down and then another few minutes was called to hand in DS156 x2 and the affidavit of support etc.... read complete review

Visa Journey,

This is how it went down...

I woke up at 7am, left the house with my fianceé at 7:30am (she is visiting Ireland this week).

Got to Dublin at 11:30 am (I live far away)

Collected my medical results at 12 noon

Taxied it to the US Embassy

Arrived a little before 1pm

Waited outside with some other people (there were K-1's, CR-1's, Americans living here in Ireland renewing their passports, J-1's... a mixture of everyone!)

Entered the Embassy (which is like boarding a plane, same type of security!) and was told to join the que...

1. Name was called and paid $350 in CASH. Don't need a bank draft, but if you do bring a bank draft, make sure it is EXACTLY $350. One K-1 brought a bank draft for $400 dollars and she was told to leave the Embassy and go get one for $350... I felt bad for the girl, she clearly never read VisaJourney before!

Fiance arrived at 12:50 for 1:00 interview. Went through security and put his items in a locker. He was called up to an initial counter to pay and provide some preliminary documents (he couldn\'t remember which) that were outlined from packet 3. He paid $350 in bank draft. However, he found out that they DO accept credit cards and Euros. 80 Euros to $100 exchange if you pay in Euro cash. Exact change only. Then he sat down and waited.

While he waited, he could hear other people\'s interviews. He said he was appalled at how many ill-prepared people there were. People missing the fee completely, not bringing affidavit of support, missing the police cert and not bringing medical eval from authorized doctor in Blackrock. He also said, while he waited, he had conversations with two separate people who had overstayed their welcome and had to interview in order to get back in. One of them overstayed 10 years ago and wanted to go to the states to see his child and w... read complete review
