Our interview was pretty easy. But I think that was mostly because we had been to the embassy together four times before our actual interview date. Our file went into some kind of 'extra security check' before leaving NVC and it really threw a wrench into our lives because my fiancee (now wife) was pregnant at the time. I flew to Jakarta 3 times and we went to the consulate to do whatever we could to move things forward. It didn't do any good as far as getting the ball rolling and we ended up having our son in Singapore and then having our interview after he was born. We showed up at the interview with our newborn son (which goes a long way to proving a legitmate relationship ) and by that time I had so many stamps in my passport and we knew a couple of the consulate employees on a first name basis. We had never seen the guy that did our actual interview, but I got the feeling he'd been told about us because he didn't ask to see a single shred of proof (phot... read complete review

Review Topic: Direct Consular Filing

Interview was simple and fast . Was asked how we met . My wife was then asked about her education and where she grew up . Her job experience was the only thing the interviewer seemed to ask that took any sort of thought by my wife.

I was outside for the interview , but was called in by officer . We recieved approval on spot .

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Never try to contact them by phone, even if you have the direct number, they just won't answer it. at least that's what happen to me. If you have any question in mind, just ask it when you meet them in face or try to find the answer somewhere else. If you are applying for K1 visa, NEVER ever gueuing with the other visa applicant, even when the guard said so. I always argued with the guard that I had the appointment with the lady at the locket 4 (that's the immigrant locket) and she said I should just go direct there. The queuing is only for the non immigrant visa and you're applying under the immigrant visa (K1/K3).

All in all, if you well prepared, they won't make any hassle at all. My personal experience, the lady at the locket 4 wasn't friendly at all (I forgot her name now and other people whom queuing with me also has the same opinion) but I got all my homework well done, so what the hell.

Good Luck!

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

The wait time is short between document completion to interview (ours was less than 1 week).
The email response is fast (usually you get answers within 1-2 days).
The denial rate for non immigrant visa is high, but not as high for immigrant. Everyone having immigrant interview on same day with wife were granted their visa (she think)
