Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My wife’s interview appointment was for 9:15. My wife had her interview. She said the Consulate Officer was nice. The questions were easy. However, her she was refused at this time due to needing another police certificate from another country where she had worked for 5 years. All other documents we submitted were good. If not for needing this other police certificate she would have been approved.

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Interviewed in the early morning, was first screened by consulate documents screener. she asked for the separate financial support affidavit for the K2 child of K1 beneficiary who's scheduled for interview at the same time. Beneficiary replied that US petitioner provides the combined affidavit to support k2 along with K1. Afterwards interviewed with consul, and was granted with K1/k2 visa without issue. Total time spent in the consulate is one hour.

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My wife (beneficiary) and I (US Citizen petitioner) were interviewed for 4 hours. Her visa was approved on 12/05 but now it is 12/18 and we still do not have the passport returned. Guangzhou is unhelpful and refuses to provide any information. Do not expect any support or empathy from this consulate.
