My wifes interview was scheduled out about 5 weeks from date of schedule. Jan 19 2021
She was to arrive at 7:50 am in Guangzhou, China
She arrived in Guangzhou on Dec28 to prevent any delays do to virus quarantines.
The medical exam required her to also be quarantined before arriving there on Jan 12.
She picked up her Medical envelope on Jan 18.
She found a very clean boarding hotel within 20 minute walk because she didn't want to spend to much money.
Then right before her medical she moved to hotel around the corner from medical building.
She arrived ahead of time and was first in line. She quickly was processed thru the different windows giving the information they requested.
She had very little wait times in between windows.

My wife got to the gate surrounding the consulate area and went in @ 7:40AM/7:45AM. Then, she waited in line outside the consulate building and entered the building @ 8:40AM/8:45AM. When it was all over, she came out of consulate around 11AM. Before the interview, she was asked to submit these documents:
- Appointment letter
- Police certification of no criminal record
- Birth certificate
- Marriage certificate
- Petitioner’s 2019 tax return
She also took an oath of truth by raising right hand and had her fingerprints scanned. She also received a small pamphlet she had to read before continuing with the process. The pamphlet was basically about what to do if you are in the US and become a victim of domestic violence. It also includes punishment for having a sham marriage just to go to the US. Then came the interview. Her interview was conducted in Chinese, because her English isn't great, but it did not seem to be an issue wit... read complete review

Context: I'm a Chilean citizen living in Shanghai, China as a foreign national. I traveled to Guangzhou for my CR-1 interview.
Review/Experience: My appointment was at 9:15 AM and I arrived at the consulate at about 8:45 AM. They let groups in in waves, so there were about 15 others waiting to be let inside the consulate for immigrant visa interviews. At around 9 am we were let in. There were cubbies to hold your belongings and phone so you CAN take a bag/phone with you. At 9:10ish am I got a number and was told to wait for my document check. I waited about 35 minutes to be called for my document check. At this step, a consular representative (Chinese but English speaking) asked me to open my medical test in front of her. After she checked that she asked me for the following: police certificates (original with translation), birth certificate (original with translation), and marriage certificate (original, which I did not have). She then asked me the following questions:... read complete review
