My fiancé had a 7:45am appointment, arrived early but still had to wait in a line. Not terrible though. He dropped his paperwork at the window then sat down again to wait. He was called back up and interviewed pretty quickly. They asked simple questions about our meeting and our plans for the future. He was then approved. Since he is Canadian living temporarily in China (until next week LOL), they asked him to return back to Shanghai, mail his passport in, and he would receive it in 2 weeks or so. He explained that his work contract is up next week (we had obviously hoped this process would be done sooner) and he has no place to live after that. He asked if he remained in Guangzhou for a few days if there was a way to get it back sooner. The CO was able to arrange a direct pick up after 2-3 days. Overall, he said the consulate was a good experience and the staff was helpful and kind.

K1/K2 visa application.
After waiting for so long, we were so excited to actually get an interview.
I was not there, this is the story my Fiance told me.
Interview Person drilled my Fiance with many questions:
What is his name? What do I do for a living? Why I divorce? Why you divorce? Where I live? Where am I born? When I come to America? How did we meet? How old are my kids? What do I do for a living? How many times we met? Describe the circumstances how we met? She says she cant remember additional questions.
We have a legit relationship, and I have visited her in China 8 times since last summer. We spend a week prior to interview Video Chatting and I asked her sample questions to prepare. I would strongly advise this, just to make the Interview less intimidating.
Finally, we made two mistakes; 1). I forgot to sign the I-134 and 2). We did not think her Child needed to attend the K2 interv... read complete review

Went very quickly. Had 7:45am interview so didn't have to wait much. Asked the following questions:
1) Who filed for petition?
2) Are you a member of communist party?
3) When was the last time you saw your Fiancé?
4) Why you didn't marry in China?
5) How old are you? How old is he?
6) How did you meet each other?
7) Is he still your boss?
8) What does your company do?
No questions about relationship or upcoming wedding. Just said good luck and handed approval notice. Most interesting was he didn't ask to see any photos nor did he ask about seeing USA passport to show support. Some people have said this was helpful but had no positive effect in our case. Also didn't care about speaking English or Chinese. Quick and easy.

So, this has been an ordeal.
We provided all Documentation and Paperwork Requested. He asked my Fiancee 7 Questions, Read thru our Chat Log asked her "Where are these log from. She replied, They are from WhatsApp, he then said to you you can't Pass. gave her a letter with no Denial Code on it and that was it. she was there for less than 10 minutes.
We pay so much and wait so long to have one person quantify our entire 4yr Relationship with a Yes or no.
So Sad
