Our experience with the embassy was great the only problem was that my fiance's packet 3 & 4 took over a month to arrive. I was in Chile on vacation so I was with my fiance during his entire visa process. We had to go to the embassy to pick it up. But everything else was great every time I had to email them they would message me back within a few hours at the most. The day of our interview we went to go pick up my fiance's medical at 12pm then at we made our way over to the embassy there was only one person online so we went in right away. We were the first ones called up to the interview and I've heard stories that although they allow the US citizen to attend the final interview they make them sit down during the first interview. The first interviewer was a very nice Chilean lady. She was actually the same lady who gave us our packet 3 & 4 and recognized us. She asked my fiance a bunch of questions regarding our relationship and she wanted to know specific dates as well. She asked me ... read complete review

Great experience with consulate.....1st off, as soon as you get your appt booked with them, shoot an email so they will send you your appt letter which you need for the medical. also remember you can not enter with liquids, cameras, or phones all of which you can leave in security if you need to.

as far as the actual interview went, it was a breeze. appt was at 14:00 we got there about :15 beforehand. there was a short line outside but they were all tourist visas. we were allowed in early and were actually the 4th in line for immigrant visas (so if you want to go early, looks like they open about 20 till, idk). you don´t need to pass to the counter where they take the info of all the non-im. visas, you can just sit and wait for your # to be called.
we were called up to a window for document reception, the girl was new (chilean, shortish, with glasses) and was being trained. she was extremely nice and she allowed me to stay at the window with my spouse while she... read complete review

Our interview was scheduled for 2pm on Sept. 26th, more than a month and a half after our case was closed at NVC.

We arrived at 1:30, by which time there were already about 20 people lined up outside. By the time we went in, at least another 30 people got in line behind us. However, most of those people were getting tourist visas.

At 2pm, they started letting in groups of people, asking them why they were there and asking to see papers. When it was our turn, we were asked what visa we were there for, and we said that my husband was the beneficiary for a CR1. The guard was a real SOB, and would not let me go in with my husband! I explained to him multiple times that it was an immigration visa, that I was the applicant and he was defiant. Luckily, some other guard that was his boss came over, we explained the situation, and he let both of us in. We got our number and sat down.

We were the 3rd number for the immigration part. We waited a... read complete review

My experience at the Consulate was very nice actually, it was just me, my fiance was back in the US.
I when earlier that day to pick up my medical result (the doctor told me to get there at noon, but I was too excited so I got there about 10:45 am, thinking I may get them earlier, Wrong!!) anyway I got my results at 12 pm, then I head to the embassy, I got there around 12:30 pm so I when to have a coffee and a snack, cross the embassy, so then I when to the door and wait there till a security guy came out and ask me what I was doing there, I show him my appointment letter and he told me they will let me in at 13:30, then more people show up and start doing a line, some funny stories happen in that mid while (other people with other type of visas, most of them tourist)any way after a while an other person that work at the embassy came out and tell us that they where ready, and put some people a head of me, like a lady of age and a girl that was with a baby.
When I finall... read complete review
