We were allowed into the consulate at 12:45pm for our interview at one o'clock. After passing through two security checks we went into the waiting room. At about one o'clock one of the consular officers called us up to present our documents so that they could be prepared for the interview. He opened my medical results and commented on the way they had stapled all over my passport photo. After checking my birth certificate with the photocopy he returned the original, and took everything else. He said that the evidence could be presented at the interview which was to be held at two o'clock.

At about two o'clock we were called around the corner to have our fingerprints scanned, then my fiance and I were called up to the booth for our interview. The consular officer who interviewed us was extremely friendly and it was like a very friendly conversation. After asking us how we met (online) and where we had first met in person he asked me whether I had felt nervous or intimidat... read complete review

Review Topic: K3 Visa

Just got back from my trip to Montreal and figured I better post my review before I start to forget the details.

I stayed at the Omni Mont Royal Hotel on Sherbrooke. Very nice (nice with a capital N) hotel and would definitely recommend. Cost me $146 and a nice view of the city. Parlor suite I believe had one of those sofa beds but was plenty comfortable. I would rate the hotel as a 5 Star and it is less than a 5 minute drive from the consulate.

I woke up at 5.30 am. (well I could not really sleep so I should really say I was up till 5.30 am) Left the hotel at 6.20 since I was not sure about the roads and traffic. Took me about 5 minutes to get to the consulate. There is parking right in front of the building but you cannot put in money into the machine until 9am. There was no one at the consulate when I arrived and I was dying for some caffeine. Went down to Subway that I could see but it was closed. So I decided to look for a Timmys. There is one on Blv... read complete review

Sorry for the delay. Our interview was on July 9 and was scheduled at 1:00. My fiance and I went together (I am the USC). We arrived at about 12:45, got through the security checks, and had a seat in the waiting room next to the blue chairs. At about 1:10 we were called to a desk where a very nice man took all of our evidence and documents for preparation. But then he also informed us that the consular hadn't taken his lunch break yet, and that he didn't know when he would actually get around to interviewing us! I thought that was pretty crappy but whatever.

There were two other women going for their K1s who also had appointments for 1:00 so we chatted with them until about 2:45 when we were finally called up to the desk again. Their fingerprinting device wasn't working, so we ended up having the interview around the corner where most of the other people get their visitors visas and such, but by this time the lobby was empty besides us K1ers.

The intervi... read complete review
