So, here is my experience with my interview for immigration visa in Montreal, Canada.
I did my medical examination at Medisys, Montreal. The examination was very straightforward and easy. You just need to book an appointment for at least 4-5 days ahead as it takes 3 business days for them to give you the results.
We had our interview scheduled by NVC at 8:30 AM. We parked in a public parking a block away from the consulate (for $12.00). Then we walked to the consulate at 8:00 Am. About 7-8 people were already lined up. Then the security guy told us to come back at 8:20 AM. We went to Starbucks and waited until 8:20 AM. We then went back to the consulate and then we let in at 8:30 AM. A lady in red vest took our passports and the interview letter given to us by NVC. Then she gave us a laminated sheet with instructions about order of documents. Then we went through an airport type of security check and then we were directed to the downstairs and took the elevator to 19th ... read complete review

We had our k-1 visa interview on April 26th. We had a 9:45 appointment, but we arrived at 9:00 because we wanted to give ourselves extra time to find the embassy. (It was very easy to find.) When we arrived, we checked in with the guard, who told us to come back at 9:30. We went to Starbucks and had some raspberry white mochas.

When we returned to the embassy, the greeter gave us our number and a laminated checklist and sent us through security. Our documents, which were in two clear plastic expanding file cases, passed easily through the x-ray machine. I handed in my phone and received a ticket to pick it up after the interview.

After going through security, we went downstairs to an elevator and took it to the 19th floor. If I could do it over again, I would stop in the room with the elevator to look at the laminated checklist and put our documents in the requested order. We thought we would have time to do this upstairs. As soon as we stepped of... read complete review

Well no surprise here! It went as per every previous review. My appointment was at 1045, I chose the latest time slot on purpose and that was a great idea! no line up, no wait. I walked in at 1030, and was greeted by the security guy who was friendly but business oriented, which is not a bad thing. Went to the typical airport like security measure no issue. I was told to proceed downstairs and take the elevator. Once downstairs I decided to take a few minutes to arrange my paperwork according to the list on the laminated sheet they gave me. Once upstairs they were already waiting for me as I realized that I was pretty much the last interview for the day (was #20) The lady asked me paperwork in a different order than the one on their laminated sheet but no surprise there as I read the comment here before. The lady at window 1 was very nice and pleasant and within a few minutes everything was in order. As I was at window 1 they called # 18 to window 7. Once done at window 1 I had to wai... read complete review

Thank you to everyone on Visa Journey for helping us get through this K1 process.

Our appointment was at 7:45am today. We parked in the lot off of Rue St-Alexandre for $10.00 and arrived around 7:20am. There were only 4 people in line. All we had with us was a binder in a plastic bag, jackets, and a car key. Once security opened the doors, a lady came out and asked everyone in line their appointment times. We were then allowed in first, although we were at the end of the line. When you enter you are asked for your passports and provided with a laminated sheet that gives you your document submission order. We then put all of our belongings and jackets in a bin to be scanned, and we also walked through the security scanner. I had to check in my car keys and we were directed to go downstairs. In the room I put the documents for myself and child in order.

So this is my first active post on VJ though I've been prowling the forums for months and months. Now pertaining to the Montreal Consulate...

My experience here was swift and simple. I have a lot of anxiety on a performance and social level, so I have been worried sick about the whole interview process for weeks leading up to it.

I came to the front door at 8:30am for an 8:45am interview, and was surprised and a little off put that there was no line up. Regardless, the signage is pretty blatantly for the consulate so I walked in and the lady in the red vest checked me in using my passport information. She also gave me the laminated checklist.

After this, I got instructed to wait at the door to be let in by security. Again, there was no line (I was under the impression the place was usually busy but it was dead). The security officer let me in, had me take off my jacket and watch, and all standard airport security things. I left my phone with... read complete review
