Well no surprise here! It went as per every previous review. My appointment was at 1045, I chose the latest time slot on purpose and that was a great idea! no line up, no wait. I walked in at 1030, and was greeted by the security guy who was friendly but business oriented, which is not a bad thing. Went to the typical airport like security measure no issue. I was told to proceed downstairs and take the elevator. Once downstairs I decided to take a few minutes to arrange my paperwork according to the list on the laminated sheet they gave me. Once upstairs they were already waiting for me as I realized that I was pretty much the last interview for the day (was #20) The lady asked me paperwork in a different order than the one on their laminated sheet but no surprise there as I read the comment here before. The lady at window 1 was very nice and pleasant and within a few minutes everything was in order. As I was at window 1 they called # 18 to window 7. Once done at window 1 I had to wait for maybe 5 minutes at the most before they where done with #19 and it was now my turn. Oh the glorious window 7! it was my turn after a 6 months process! No more than 5 minutes and it was over and done with! Welcome to the USA and make sure you get married within 90 days of your entry. Now to make this review a bit more helpful I will give a few advice and such by point form, please keep in mind these a based on my personal experience.
-Don't show up too early or you will have to wait somewhere...Starbucks must make good money on Wednesday
-Bring a lot of paperwork! Over prepare so they don't ask for something you don't have. I Brought Everything that was on consulate checklist+proof of payment+I-129F+packet 3+packet 4
-Use post it to organize your paperwork, it will make your life easier and they sure appreciate people being organized and efficient.
-Consider taking a later time slot....unless you have to fly from Montreal the same day, take your time. Like I said i don't think there was more than 3 people scheduled at 1045 as I was in by 1030 and by the McGill metro station by 1105!
-No need to overdress, clean, casual is plenty. Actually if you show up in a suit and tie you might stand out
That's about it, really it was just as I taught it was going to be (thanks to everyone who shared their experience before me) the previous part of the process was harder and more nerve wreaking.
Now it's time to wait for the status to show : Issued
