So, here is my experience with my interview for immigration visa in Montreal, Canada.
I did my medical examination at Medisys, Montreal. The examination was very straightforward and easy. You just need to book an appointment for at least 4-5 days ahead as it takes 3 business days for them to give you the results.
We had our interview scheduled by NVC at 8:30 AM. We parked in a public parking a block away from the consulate (for $12.00). Then we walked to the consulate at 8:00 Am. About 7-8 people were already lined up. Then the security guy told us to come back at 8:20 AM. We went to Starbucks and waited until 8:20 AM. We then went back to the consulate and then we let in at 8:30 AM. A lady in red vest took our passports and the interview letter given to us by NVC. Then she gave us a laminated sheet with instructions about order of documents. Then we went through an airport type of security check and then we were directed to the downstairs and took the elevator to 19th floor. We did not have any cell phone with ourselves, but you can take it with yourself if you turn it off.
The laminated sheet had a number on it. We were #10. We waited for 5 minutes and then we were called at windows 1. There was a lady who was very welcoming and polite. She first took our finger prints. Then, she asked for our documents one by one. she started from our passports, and then our immigration status in Canada, then medical examination results, 2 passport size photos, birth certificates (original, translations and copies), police certificates from the countries we lived in before, marriage certificate with translations and copies, and that was it. I already took some extra documents as back up, but the officer did not ask for anything else (I had my 2016 tax file document, some communication emails with potential employers and etc.). The only thing she said was that if you give them a new version of translation of your document, then they need to re-scan it and upload it in their system. So,she checks the translated documents with what you already submitted online.
Then, the officer told us to wait until they call us again for the interview. So, we sat back on the chairs for less than an hour this time to be called by another officer at Windows #7. The officer who interviewed us was also very nice and polite. The interview was very short and straightforward. She first asked me about my field of research which I answered completely. Meanwhile, she asked if I have any C.V. with myself which I fortunately had one. So I handed it to her. Then she asked me about my military records and then she asked my wife about her work and if she has ever committed any crime in Canada, which the answer was no. She also asked me if I have ever been in US before and I said yes, because I have been in US couple of times for some conferences. Finally, she told us everything is OK and then she said they need 3-4 weeks for some administrative processing before asking for our passports (You need to register for a courier before you go to interview).
Overall, the process is very simple and straightforward if you bring all the documents they need at interview.
One last thing is you don't need to overdress. Don't show up with suit and tie because you may stand out. Just go with your normal everyday dress.

Good luck!
