I am from the Toronto area, so I took the train in the day before and stayed at the Chrome Hotel up the street which was within walking distance to the consulate. My appointment was for 10am, but I arrived about 15-20 minutes early. There were no lineups at all. I got through security with no problems (I didn't bring anything with me except all my paperwork in a couple file folders). When I got to the 19th floor, I waited about 5-10 minutes before they called my number (#21). The lady at the first window was really nice. I was worried I wouldn't have enough financial info for my fiancee and co-sponsor (his sister), but I had no problems (I brought his last 3 pay stubs, a letter from his current employer, a letter from his bank and all the bank statements for the last few months since he opened an account there. For his sister, I brought a letter from her employer, her 2016 W2, a letter from her bank and a years worth of bank statements). I was a little worried when I was asked if I had... read complete review

There is no much to say really.
My husband and I followed all instructions and the entire process was flawless until the day of the interview. The interview time did not take more than 30 minutes and I got out before my interview scheduled time because I had arrived few minutes earlier. The agent who I spoke to made it seem as if I am not being interviewed which was really good and made me comfortable. He asked few questions which I immediately answered while he was finishing up few things on my documentations.
I did not carry anything with me except what I was told to take to the interview. No phone, no jewelry. Entered simple and everything was simple.
No other comments really. No questions to note.

I had my interview this morning at 8am. I live about 6 hours from Montreal so I drove there after work on the 16th. Just a note for anyone who might be driving; the 720 is under heavy construction which caused me about an hour delay in horrendous stop and go traffic. I recommend not driving a standard should you have to endure this...my left leg is still sore! The next morning I left from my airbnb on park avenue quite early so I of course had to do the customary stop in at Starbucks and got myself a toasted coconut cold brew (oh god so good, highly recommend, and the barista was incredibly friendly even though my french is horrendous). Headed over to the consulate with nothing but my wallet and my folder of documents at 7:40am and was let in after easily passing through the security.
I was given my laminated sheet with the list of documents they would ask me for and sent downstairs to wait. There were definitely some things on it that were not on the P4 checklist but ... read complete review

To all who posted and shared their knowledge, opinions, and experiences on this site; thank you.
My wife and I had a very smooth interview experience. She lives in Montreal and is familiar with the area which helped. I came into the city to be with her at the interview, which i suggest to all members, if you are able (petitioners - your presence isn't required, nor will the interviewers even know you are there since you arent able to speak or walk up to the booth with your spouse - but it's just good support).
10am appointment. We drove to Medisys to pick up the medical packet at around 8:30 (took 2 minutes) and drove a few blocks over to the embassy.
Parking: if you are driving, the most convenient parking is literally right across the street from the embassy entrance - get there before 9am and its $13 for the day.
Arrival: dont come more than 30 minutes before the interview. We got to the embassy at around 8:45 - there was no line.... read complete review

I'm not sure if my experience is similar to others but it was super low key - expect a positive review!
My interview was on May 3 at 8:30 AM. I am from Toronto, so I arrived in MTL with my mom (she accompanied me since my fiancé is busy studying for his medical boards so he couldn't fly down to come too) the day before around 8 pm. We got a hotel SUPER close to the consulate called Le Square Phillipe - it was an amazing stay and SO close! I wandered around the night before to see where the consulate entrance was so I wouldn't feel flustered in the morning. When coming from Rue St. Catherine along St. Alexandre, there's a staircase that people have previously said looks like an entrance but isn't - they're right, don't enter! The door for entrance is a bit further along and has a crest over the door with lots of signs of what you can/can't bring in, you can't miss it. There's also a Starbucks across the street so you can wait there if you're early o... read complete review
