You could easily miss the building if you did not know where to look. Service staff were friendly, and even engaged in small talk. Once inside and cleared security, the wait time was not a factor in any of the proceedings. First person I spoke to was very straight-forward and thorough. Second person who conducted the proper interview was kind, joyvial and really cared about everyone interviewing. In the seating/waiting area, everyone that was there were rooting for each other to pass and offered applause as successful applicants exited.

Long wait, however, staff were super friendly and nice to me. Interview was informal and the interviewer was very down to earth. I over prepared for the interview and he asked very simple questions, which was a relief, as I was very nervous.

My appointment time was 8:30am. I got there at 7:55am and the guard made me wait outside until 8am before allowing me inside. I was given #14 and opted not to put things in order that it says on the sheet they give you. lol I had things in a binder in clear sheets all labelled so I knew I could find things quickly. I got called to the document windows at about 9am and gave everything over they asked for. They did only ask me for his last years irs transcript but did say if I had any other supporting evidence they would take it. So I gave her w2's, paystubs, and employer letter. Did my electronic prints and sat down to wait again about 9:10am. Got called up to the Interview window at about 9:20am. I had a very nice lady who totally made it a conversation but the questions she asked were. What do you call him Christopher or Chris? Where did you guys meet? What is Second Life?( you see we met in the virtual world of Second Life lol and she was wondering what it was. When I told her she sa... read complete review

I had a very smooth experience at the Montreal consulate. Here's a little summary of how it all went:
-Arrived at the consulate with my wife at around 7:30am for my 8am appointment.
-We hadn't planned on her attending with me, so we didn't know she needed her US passport to enter (but they ended up letting her in anyway--they said it was Friday so they were in a good mood lol).
-They gave me a laminated paper with my waiting number and the order they wanted me to arrange my documents in.
-Went through security check and waited for an officer to lead us and a few other folks into an elevator.
-Sat down and waited to be called to speak with intake officer. Once I went up to the booth, she asked me for the original versions of documents I had submitted to NVC, updated tax forms and confirmed my address, date of birth, etc. She also took my fingerprints, then asked me to sit down and wait for my interview.
-I waited a few more minutes, t... read complete review
