Interview was for 8:00AM on a Tuesday. We arrived at 7:20. Once inside we were handed a laminate sheet stating we were #4 in line. First window they ask you for documents then have you sit back down. About 5 minutes later they call you to a second window. Only took about 3 minutes. Asked about spouse, if we had children or were married before. Officer was a super sweet lady. Handed over a paper that said welcome to the United States and said congratulations. At 8:20 it was all over and we were ecstatic. Passport was ready for pickup in calgary on Thursday... only took two days! Leaving for the U.S. tomorrow!

Very long process from start to finish. Started March 2017. Finished August 2018. VISA issued passport returned one week after interview date. Arrive very early for interview, ideally by 7am. We arrived at 7:30 am for an 8:30 am appointment and were seen at 9:45 am. Out by 10:45am.

There was a lot of waiting for my turn to be interviewed. They did not call numbers in order, so we were kept guessing when our turn was going to come.
When it finally was my turn, it was fast, less than 5 minutes. They asked me a handful of questions, then handed me a letter and said "Welcome to the U.S."

I had my interview this morning at the consulate in Montreal, my appointment was for 7:30am there were a handful of people waiting to get in as well. I went about a half hour early to wait in line.
The overall process was fairly simple and easy to follow, you go inside check in and go through the security check. I decided not to bring my phone in or have any bags just my binder and wallet/jacket. Made it easy as I was allowed to keep everything on me.
They give you a number and a sheet to organize all your documents and you head up the elevator. You head to a waiting room to be called up to submit your documents (the staff were extremely nice) as long as you have everything there shouldn't be any issues. 100% Make sure you have originals it is very important they require wet inks on all the documents your fiance needs to sign and all documentation that requires a seal like a court record, police check or divorce records you gotta have the originals. I ma... read complete review

Warning: I've tried to make this as detailed as possible so it's a bit lengthy, LOL. Like everyone says, the interview was the easiest part! Took a total of 45 mins vs the medical which took about an hour and a half (at the Medisys clinic in Montreal). I was in Montreal from August 1-8 with my medical on August 1 and my interview on August 8. I picked up my medical on August 6 - after being notified by email that it was ready. I stayed at L'Appartement Hotel on Sherbrooke, downtown, and I would highly recommend it. It is an apartment style hotel so they have a full kitchen, living room and dining room. It was $173/night which was comparable to the rest of the hotels in the area. The medical clinic was about a 5 min walk and the consulate was about a 10 min walk form the hotel. Metro station is also about 3 mins walk so it was easy to get around and sight see. They offer a free, typical hotel breakfast, and I saved a bit more money by picking up groceries to make lunch in the hotel kit... read complete review
