Arrived at the consulate at 7:30, and already a little bit of a line up.
After turning in my cell phone we all got herded downstairs, which gave you time to get your documents in order.
I was looking at the folders and binders and briefcases that other people brought and thought maybe I didn't bring enough because I just had a little file. But if you follow the checklist and bring what is on that you're totally fine. They did not ask for evidence of a relationship at all, and for that all I brought was a couple of emails and plane ticket stubs.
The wait was a little bit long as they were having computer issues, but was still out of there by 9:30.
In actuality the total time spent with the person at the document window and the interview may have taken 15 minutes in total.
This was the least painful part of the whole process

Quick & painless!
I brought way more information than was needed. Most of the one was spent waiting, and even then the whole thing only took an hour!

300 days after applying we are approved!

Very nice staff. Definitely come prepared. I arrived with a small tote with just my documents in it nothing else. Surprisingly they let me carry this in. They took my cellphone, put it in storage and handed me a ticket so I can claim it after my interview. They gave me a laminated sheet with a number on it. Like some other VJ members mentioned it don’t matter if you put it in order or not the officer at the window will ask for them in whatever order they want just know where it’s located in your pile! 😉. Also, make sure you have all originals out. I made my own copies so I submitted them altogether.

The interview was about 10 mins give or take. They asked my fiance’s name, US address, occupation, how we met, when did we know we wanted to get married, etc.

I was given the pink paper and went on my way.

Over all experience with Montreal was great. Everyone that I dealt with was really nice. They were having some technical problems this morning but they apologized for it being slow. I believe the interview was maybe 10 minutes. The longest part was waiting to be called to hand over my documents. Over all it took an hour and 45 minutes from the time I arrived and waited outside till I left. It was actually pretty easy.

I had my K-1 interview this morning, and was approved! The whole process was very smooth and professional, and the people working there are all really friendly. It's not at all like crossing the border where they're stern and stony-faced. I didn't have to produce any "proof of relationship," although I had it with me. At the "interview" window I was just asked a few questions such as where I've traveled internationally in the past 5 years and where/when my fiancé and I met. All in all a great experience for something so tedious!
