I arrived at the Montreal Consulate with my fiancé at 07:06 in the morning and there were about 8 people in line already, as time went by more people started showing up. at around 07:22 a security guard opened the door and removed a sign which had forbidden items on it. He told everyone to switch off their cellphones. He also stated that we will all enter the building according to our appointment times. My appointment time was at 07:30, when we got inside the consulate, the lady at the door took my passport and my fiancé's passport. She put a sticker with my name on it and a barcode at the back of my passport she then returned the passports to us and gave us the laminating paper with the #6 on top of it.
We went through the airport style security screening and they collected our phones and told us that we will get them back after the interview. We then went downstairs were there was a waiting room. about 10 minutes later a security guard came and opened the elevat... read complete review

my husband just had his interview this morning at 9am (eastern) and got his "Welcome to the United States" letter!!! I was unable to go to Montreal with him due to time constraints (interview was scheduled about 2 weeks ago). He flew in last night from Vancouver, checked into the hotel had a sleepless anxious night (as did I!!!!) and got to the consulate at 8:05 am. He was called to hand in the papers at around 9:20 am (the longest wait was to turn these in). Waited for a little bit for the interview and the interview only took 5 minutes. In and out by 10 am. He said everyone was super friendly (including the guards) and the lady that interviewed him was very appreciative that he brought all of the necessary documents, copies, and then some (my OCD organized it all and put post-its to make it dummy proof). Due to his job he cannot stick around and wait for his passport so we have opted to still have it delivered regardless of how long it takes.

My appointment was at 9:00 and I got there around 8:15. They gave me a laminated sheet with the order of documents I needed to hand in along with a number that would be used to call my turn. They called my number at 9:30 and they asked for my documents and I got fingerprinted. I went and sat back down and was then called up at 11:00 for my interview. It was at a window where I just stood. The man asked me how we met, when we got engaged, how long I spent in the States when I visited, and what my husband does for work. Then he gave me my welcome letter and said congratulations.

Had my interview today. Everyone was super helpful and nice. Arrived at US consulate at 7:10 am. Doors opened at 7:20 am. I was fifth in line. My interview was scheduled at 8:00 a.m. Once you enter, you check in, receive a handout with the order you are required to submit your documents in. Arranged documents and then took elevator to the 19th floor. I was called up and met with a kind woman who obtained and reviewed my documents one at a time. She entered some data and then told me that first step was complete and documents were all in order. I sat back down and waited to get called for my interview. I swore an oath and another nice lady asked me how my husband and I met, the first time he came to visit me and the longest I’ve ever stayed in the USA followed by a few standard questions about ever being denied entry etc. Once that was done, she handed me a sheet of paper and with a huge smile told me that I was approved. Only issue now, Canada Post is on strike and so the retur... read complete review
