Our appointment was set for November 28, 2018 at 9:00AM. We arrived at around 8:20AM, leaving mostly everything including phones back at the hotel since they'll take any electronics that you have on you before being allowed to pass. Wallets and keys and even books were allowed so no worries there. There was no line-up outside the door. A lady directly to the right of the entrance to the embassy greeted us, checked my name for the interview, took both me and my spouse's passports, then stuck a sticker with my name to the back of my Canadian passport before handing both back to us. She also handed me a laminated sheet with a ticket number on it. The laminated sheet contained information on exactly what order they want to see the documents in for both the IR1/CR1 visa and K1 visa as well. At the time this review was written, the order was as such for CR1/IR1 visas:
- Laminated sheet with ticket number on it
- Original passport (they ask you to bring a photocopy as we... read complete review

Arrived at consulate at 6:50 am - appointment was at 8 am
One family was already there from 6:45 am
Stood outside until 7:30 am
By then there were 2 families and around 4 applicants
Officer came outside with the board of items that are not allowed passed security - I had my water bottle and phone that were not allowed
He then asked everyone to line up according to their appointment time with their passport and interview appointment letters in hand
I was 8 am
There were three 7:30am appts and three 8am appts
He only let in as many people that could fit inside at a time, everyone else waited outside - bundle up
Once it was my turn, I handed my passport and letter to the next officer (behind the podium), she asked what time my appointment was for, then handed me a laminated sheet with a number - I was #4 - and told me to:
Go through securit... read complete review

I had my interview yesterday
My appointment time was for 730, and we showed up right at 730. There was a short lineup of people outside - maybe 10 people. The security guard was inviting people in 3 at a time to allow for easier security screening. When I went inside, they asked to look at both my and my fiancé’s passports, and a sticker was placed on the back of mine. Then we were asked to go through a small screening, we walked through a metal detector and had our possessions x-rayed. They took our cellphones and were given a small ticket to claim them when we we ready to leave.
Then we were asked to go to a room downstairs and organize our paperwork in the order given to us on a laminated sheet of paper. These laminated papers also assigned us with numbers that would be used to call us when they needed to see us. For any adults who still needs their passport photos by this stage, there is also a photo booth in this area where you can get the... read complete review

My interview is at 8:30. I left my hotel around 7:30 thinking 10 minute walk is ample time to reach my destination. It was snowing very hard outside so the road condition was terrible. I left my cellphone and electronics at the hotel so I was lost for a bit struggling trying to find the consulate.
After 20-30 minute of stumbling around in the snow storm I finally found it and there was a line outside. I only brought my jacket and paper works with me so I didn’t have to check in my electronics at the security gate. After a airport-like security I was directed downstairs to take the elevator up to the 19th floor. The lady gave us a paper to file our documents in order and I had 30 minute to organize my stuff before I was called. I came wayyyy over prepared and they didn’t even take half of my documents. I had 3 years worth of chatlogs, picture albums especially made for this occasion and boarding pass/movie ticket/amusement park tickets.
