My fiances interview was scheduled for 9am, we arrived about 8:40. When we first walked in, there were 1-2 security guards and a women (I believe she was also security) sitting at a little podium. She asked to see both our passports (so make sure both of you have them if you attend with!) and too see the sheet with our appointment time on it, then she handed us a laminated sheet with #35 on it and said this is a sheet to follow to put your items in order, she let us through. The next room was security check, you have to take off your coat, empty your pockets, and put anything you are holding into the bin to go through the machine. Then you have to walk through a metal detector, the guard held onto my fiances phone (I left mine back at the place we were staying) and my fitbit, then gave us a coupon ticket with a number on it to retrieve our items afterwards.
We walked down some stairs to an empty room with some counters, we stopped at the counter to put our items in o... read complete review

These reviews always helped me while I was waiting for my own interview. So I thought I should share how the whole process went for me.
My appointment was for 7:30, my fiancé and I arrived at the consulate at 6:55, we had been staying the night at the Marriott right across the road.
It was very cold waiting as they don’t open the door until 7:30, there was one group ahead of us in line, however their appointment was for 8 and they were told to stand aside while all of us who had 7:30 appointments could come in one at a time.
You pass through security first where they took my (beneficiary) passport and applied a sticker to it, they also wanted to see my fiancé’s. Then you take off your coat and purse and go through the metal detector. From there you’re given a laminated sheet of paper with your number and the order your documents need to be in.
After that you’re led into a room with a booth to take passport photos if you ne... read complete review

Had my interview on Feb 12, 2019 at 7:30 am. There will be multiple people with the same interview time so don't be alarmed. My husband and i ended up driving into Montreal from Toronto the night before and stayed at a close by hotel (AC Marriott) approx. 5 min walking distance from the consulate. The morning of the interview i arrived at the consulate around 7:00 am. It was quite cold and no point in waiting outside longer than 30 mins. My advice would be to arrive 30 mins before, stand at the left side of the entrance doors. The doors will open at exactly 7:30 am when the officer places a board of what not to bring into the building.
Once you are lined up they will call you into the building one by one where you will be asked for your passport for interview time verification. You will get your passport back instantly with a sticker placed on the back of it and a laminated paper with your interview number and a list of requirements on how to organize your documents to ... read complete review

We arrived at 7:20 our 7:30am appt. The night before an email was issued by the Consulate stating that despite severe weather, visa services will remain open but staffing may be limited/delayed. There were roughly seven people before us in line. At 7:30, the CBSA officer let us in one (couple) at a time. Inside a lady at a podium checked our passports and put a sticker with my name and appt time on the back of mine. She also gave me a laminated sheet with #8 on it that listed the order our documents should be in.
After the podium, we went through security one at a time, shoes on. Then we walked downstairs into the elevator waiting area where we organized our documents but the elevator arrived pretty fast so we only organized half. A security guard sent us (10-ish people) to the 19th floor where there are more chairs and counters to organize papers. The chairs on the side closer to the elevator are for immigrant visas (K-1s). Another security guard was very polite and hel... read complete review

Appointment was scheduled for 8:30. Arrived at 7:55 and sent to the 19th floor. We were given a laminated card with the order of the documents which they wanted and then to wait for our number to be called. Our number was called around 8:55 and my fiancee went up to the window and handed over some paperwork. She called me over to clarify one thing but it was fine. We were asked to sit back down until our number was called again. She was called into the interview at 10:25 and the interview lasted about 10 minutes. She said they only asked her 3 or 4 questions and the rest was swearing an oath, fingerprinting, and they gave her some information about her rights as a visa holder. You can't bring your phone up there with you so bring something to read!
