Well another day has gone by that the Consulate in Montreal has deprived me and probably many others of rightfully rejoining our families in the United States. Just to remind everyone I applied for an immigration visa in April of 2019. I completed my medical on December 8th and my interview on December 9th 2020. The one and only reason my case was refused was because they had not received my medical results. But I found out they got them on the same day as my interview. It is now January 20TH and still no answer from the Consulate. There is no reasonable reason why my Visa has been withheld from me for well over a month. I am feeling rather helpless right now as they have my passport and as time goes on I feel like I will never be able to rejoin my family. If you are in a similar situation please feel free to email me at jdphilips1961@gmail.com. I would like to hear from you to know that I am not alone in this miserable process. I will continue to write reviews weekly and keep you upda... read complete review

CR1- interview:
Just had my interview this morning 9:00am. Arrived at 8:54, waited approx 3 mins lol. Went through security no problem. Took elevator to 1st floor I was directed to window #6 gave my passport. Sat down and waited.
Called to another window where she took my fingerprints. I was asked for 1 passport photo (she scanned and returned it to me) original birth certificate, original marriage certificate, original police clearance and husband's 2019 tax transcripts. She asked who was my petitioner, what is his address in the U.S. and what is my address in Canada. She gave me a pamphlet on domestic violence and told me to have a seat I will be called for the interview soon.
I was called to a 3rd window where he had me swear to a oath, took fingerprints again (as my electronic signature) he asked me how and when my husband and I met, when we got married, what does he do for a living, do we have any children together. He then said everything look... read complete review

I arrived a couple minutes prior to the interview. It was walking distance to my hotel.
The security people were courteous and I went through the screening with no issues. (I believe they usually take your phone from you at security but, I forgot it in my jacket pocket and realized I still had it with me when I got upstairs! I was too nervous to take it out and left it in my pocket the rest of the time.)
I brought a small cloth shopping bag with a thin binder with all my paperwork in plastic protectors, my wallet and a book to read.
I was directed upstairs via elevator. The waiting area was spaced out and there were a few others sitting.
I was called up to a wicket, where they did some initial identification - asked for my passport, marriage certificate, birth certificate, police certificate. They also took my fingerprints. I was given a pamphlet to read on domestic violence and asked to sit down.
I was called up about 20 minu... read complete review

I applied for an immigration visa in April 2019. I have been married to a u.s citizen for 22 years. Due to the pandemic my interview at the Montreal Consulate was delayed. On November 16th 2020 I was visiting my family in the u.s when I was notified of my interview in Montreal on December 9th. On November 19th I traveled to Montreal and because of Covid I began isolating in a nearby hotel. I had a medical appointment scheduled for December 1st. The day before my medical a nurse called me and told me that I could not attend the medical as I had not been in Canada for more than 14 days. I told her it had been 12 days and I had no symptoms but they refused and rescheduled my medical for December 8th. One day before my interview. I thought that was ridiculous but what could I do. So now I knew that my results would not make it in time for the interview.
On December 9th I attended the Consulate for my interview. They asked for only 3 documents. My birth certificate. My marriage cer... read complete review
