Just finished my interview at the consulate. Whole process took a little over 2 hours.
I arrived at 7:50AM for myI had an 8:00AM appointment. Before I was let in, I was asked by the security guard whether I have complied with all COVID protocols. I then went through security and deposited my phone in the lockbox. I took the elevator to the first floor and checked in at window 6 to provide my passport and my photos. I then waited for an hour until I was called to window 4 to provide my civil documents. I gave my original marriage certificate, police certificate, birth certificate, as well as copies of my updated AOS, my jointly filed tax returns from 2020, my spouses' 2020 W2 and 1099s. I also told him about my new US address to update my DS-260. According to the applicant the interview was very fast (less than 5 minutes), more than likely due to a high volume of applicants scheduled and the severe backlog. Officer asked the typical questions you would expect to be asked crossing any international border as a tourist, requested civil documents to be handed over and then approved.

my interview was on october 18, 2021 at 9:30 am.
i arrived 15 minutes early, however they were backed up/at full capacity, and a lot of us were not let in until an hour and half later.
security had me put my phone and fitbit in my locker and i took my documents upstairs with me. i gave my passport and photos to the first window, sat down and waited maybe about 40 minutes to submit my documents. after she collected them, i sat back down to wait to be called for my interview. 20 or so minutes later, i was called up and had my interview - officer was very kind and he acknowledged that it must've been tough for me and thanked me for my patience throughout the process. he approved my visa and i was outside by 12:15PM.
i got my passport back with the visa on october 25. just got back to california this past weekend (after 4.5 years!! lived there for 20years of my life) and reunited with my family
