I am going to do the long version here to help others out...I was so worried myself about it all..
Drove in from Calgary (w my brother and my dog)-left Mon am the 27th Feb, we stayed Mon nite in Kamloops, and we shopped a bit there Tues am, got to Vancouver at 4 pm. Our hotel was the Comfort Inn on Nelson St.. a short 2 blocks from the medical clinic which is why I chose it, for an easy walk at 5:30am.. Loved the hotel, $79..(30$off w no cancellation) outdoor parking lot attached for $14 fee,pet fee, the beds were 6" pillow tops w down comforter, best I have ever slept on!, Doolins Irish pub is downstairs, and the free comp breakfast in Doolins was awesome.Great location, easy 5 min walk to medical clinic, 12-15 mins walk to consulate, and lots to see and do closeby.
Medical Clinic--I left hotel in rain at 5:15am,I was first there at the gates-wrought iron on a short ramp as said-there is an address sign at road..St,Paul's Hospital across street. At 5:30am a lady and he... read complete review

Here is a review of my CR-1 Visa Interview at the US Consulate in Montreal, Canada. Note that I am a citizen of Taiwan. The fact that I was not a Canadian citizen did not effect my interview in any way. Note also that my prior tourist and study permit application 214b denials also had no effect at any point in my application process or interview.

My appointment was at 9am. I arrived at the Montreal Consulate at 7:00am and waited outside. At 7:35am, I was allowed in. A receptionist asked for my Appointment Letter, DHL Letter and passport. I then proceeded to security. I brought nothing in that required a locker so I didn't use it. I so recommend bringing just your documents in if you can help it. It makes the security screening so very simple and fast. He scanned me in. After waiting at the initial security area for about 30 minutes, I was led downstairs to an elevator to the 19th Floor at about 8am. First stop was windows 14b for a number. I was #2 in queue ... read complete review

Quick or not Vancouver consulate review

So my appointment was at 10:00am on July 28/11 in Vancouver. I got to the consulate around 9:00 and was told to come back in about half an hour. The consulate has line up queues outside with a time on each line and there was absolutely no one there when I got sent away. I went to the Moonpennies cafe, kiddy corner to the consulate and had breakfast (it was not very good and expensive).

I came back to the consulate at 9:45 and was told to get in the 10:00am line. There was a family of 3 and one guy in front of me. A security guard came out and told the family to come in. Then another family showed up and lined up behind me. Then the guy in front of me got taken in by the security guard and another guy showed up and lined up behind me also. It was then my turn and was called in by security. Right inside the doors they had a table where they took my papers and asked if I had any of the "forbidden” items which I said I... read complete review

It was a chilly winter morning of January in Montreal...the feels-like temperature was -25 Degree Celsius. Me and my husband reached at the consulate at 7:40 am and we were 7th in the line. The security person allowed the first person in the line at 8 o' clock. My interview was at 8:30am. The harsh chilly wind made it very difficult for all of us to stand outside in the line.

Finally, at 8:15 I and my hubby were allowed inside. I was carrying my purse and an opend tote bag but they allowed me to take just tote and I had to transfer all my files from my purse to the tote.

The first thing I was asked was the DHL Sign up sheet, my interview appointment letter and the passport. They were not letting people go in without the DHL sheet.

Then the security check was done and I was given a token for the locker, where they kept our car keys and phones.

As other reviews have stated- I took the elevator and then went to a window in the l... read complete review

Arrived at the Consulate at 9:20, in the building by 9:45, through security and up to the 20th floor for processing. Staff was courteous and helpful, and everything went off smoothly. Very nice interviewer, who asked the standard questions: How did you meet, Who's the better golfer, Where will you live, etc.

It was all over pretty quickly. We were approved and out of the building by 10:45.

All that worry, and it was totally fine. Phew.
