I had my interview yesterday morning (July 24th) and everything went super fast!
I was at the consulate around 7am and was the first person lined up at the door. Another lady who said she had been there a while and was just walking around while waiting showed up shortly after. There were about 6 or so people in line by the time they opened the consulate doors at 730. I was asked to show my passport and the appointment confirmation email. Then I went through security and down to the elevator room (I knew to wait by the left hand side of the elevator from reading the VJ reviews). I got right in the sweet spot on the elevator on the back left hand side and was the first person out and got number C1.
Two other numbers were called before me, but when I was called everything went very quickly with handing my paperwork over and I was the first person to be finished the paperwork section and went back to sit down.
I was the first person to be called up for my interview whi... read complete review

My Fiancé and I stayed in the Squire Phillips Hotel; our room was facing the back of the building so we could see the consulate from our window. It was only about a 5 minute walk to get to the consulate, if that. We were at the consulate at about 6:50AM. When we arrived, there were already about 5 people ahead of us (one couple, one lady alone, and a lady with her mother I think who left before she went in). Once it got closer to 7:30AM, more people started showing up, but the line was still pretty small.
At 7:30 the guard started taking people in one at a time (your sponsor would join you as well). Once inside the doors, a man carrying a list of names asked to see my Interview Confirmation letter. He asked if my Fiancé was my sponsor and I said yes. Once he found my name we proceeded to the security check. We were asked to put anything we had in the bins to be scanned, and my fiancé had to remove his belt. We then went through scanners, picked our stuff back up and ... read complete review

VANCOUVER: Consulate General U.S.
Very good experience, with the exception of rain. Dress appropriately. Umbrellas are okay.
*You'll be standing outside for a bit, but it's covered*
Carried items for the interview in a 'sturdy cloth shopping bag'. Personal 'legal' items carried in a small purse. (Purses 12 x 10 x 6 in. and smaller will be permitted).
10 am appt.: Arrived at 9:30 am. Thank goodness for the VJ site... kind of knew what to expect.
CHAOTIC lineup OUTSIDE. Approached security type person; explained why I was there (k1-interview @10 am) directed to 'lady-with-list' near PODIUM. "PASSPORT & sealed MEDICAL RESULTS please". Handed these over, checked in. 'B' was scribbled on my MEDICAL envelope, for K-VISA .
Directed to 'security check' 1 (still outside) Cell phones are NOT allowed, but they do have tiny lockers (post-office-box size). They give you a little wrist-band with the key. Norma... read complete review

Hi all. My consulate review went really well. We stayed at fairmont Elizabeth , about a 7 min walk from consulate. Got decent price for it off Travelocity and they hold luggage/ car until 4 pm next day for u. Was really nice . Arrived to consulate at 630 am, only a few people in line. As they call numbers randomly once you get inside I'd say it doesn't matter if u show up at 7 or so, people that got there sy 730 when they opened somehow got their document intake done before us anyways. So sleep a little longer lol. After called o window 1 for document verification and finger printing after a half hour wait or so(we were c5), we were only at the window for less than 10 minutes. Thanks to having everything ready in the order per packet 4 and vj recommendations it went super fast. Some people had a lot of trouble and were at window for over half hour. One poor lady realized her lawyer spelled her name wrong on the documents... Save yourself the money and fill everything out yo... read complete review

I'm glad I went prepared. I was the first one at the door before the embassy opened. After they opened the door I was directed through a security area just inside, asked to empty my pockets, and given a number to retreive my items when I left. I was told to head downstairs and take a seat in a chair by the elevator. After going up in the elevator I was asked to take a seat and wait for my number to be called. I was called to the wicket and was asked how I met my wife, I explained and was then asked to take a seat again. 10 minutes later I was called again, and once again approached the wicket. I was asked how I filed as the file folder they had regarding my case was empty and they did not have any documents. I told them that I filed all documents online, and they stated that I would have to reschedule my interview as they could not locate my paperwork. Luckily I brought all of my original copies, and all of the paperwork I filed and received during the entire process. I notified them t... read complete review
