I got to the Embassy at 6am and waited in line. (Dress warm!) Once in the building, I went through security and got in the elevator. Best tip I received was to go to the very back of the elevator, you'll be the first one out. Wait in line, pay your fees and get a number. You will get called up to a kiosk twice to show your documents. The final time I was called up was for my interview. Wonderful gentleman who was to the point, very sweet and then proceeded to give me a great Halloween gift! All in all, other than my wait time outside, I was there for two hours.

Overall, very good experience.
Woking Medical:
To keep this short, showed up at 6:05 and was 5th in line. I'd recommend trying to be early, since in general, you get out in the order you arrive. Tests themselves were easy and fast, very nice (but efficient) staff. I was done all tests by 9:00. My only complaint is that we had to come back at 10:30 (for xray results) and again at 1:00 (for sealed envelope/immunization record/xray CD). Seems like they could have grouped these together rather than having us take three trips.
I got the additional sealed envelope for AOS. When I first went up to give in my forms, I asked about this, and they said they were happy I was doing it proactively. In order to get the additional envelope, I brought two photos (rather than 1) and a bank draft for $400 (rather than $350).
All in all, it went very smoothly for me... BUT, I spoke to a girl there who had used a lawyer for this whole process, and she sho... read complete review

My Fiancé and I stayed at Le Square Phillips Hotel; VERY close to the Consulate - just around the corner - and walking distance to Old Montreal and Saint Catherine Street. We were at the consulate at about 6:30AM and we were the first ones there. Soon after we arrived, another lady lined up with us. We chatted together a good 40 mins which made the time go quickly. Soon, there was a line up of about 8-10 people behind us. I expected a big long line before 7:30 but it was a lot shorter than I read in other reviews. We had WAYYY too much backup documents with us. I was very worried we'd forget something or they'd lose our Packet 3 and that we'd need to scramble to make a new one like I've read on other reviews. Once I seen that the 'normal' people only took one single folder, I felt pretty dumb to have 4 of them...and they were stuffed! haha
At 7:30ish a guard started taking people in one at a time. My Fiance, the petitioner, had no problems accessing every aspect of the... read complete review

I had my interview yesterday morning (July 24th) and everything went super fast!
I was at the consulate around 7am and was the first person lined up at the door. Another lady who said she had been there a while and was just walking around while waiting showed up shortly after. There were about 6 or so people in line by the time they opened the consulate doors at 730. I was asked to show my passport and the appointment confirmation email. Then I went through security and down to the elevator room (I knew to wait by the left hand side of the elevator from reading the VJ reviews). I got right in the sweet spot on the elevator on the back left hand side and was the first person out and got number C1.
Two other numbers were called before me, but when I was called everything went very quickly with handing my paperwork over and I was the first person to be finished the paperwork section and went back to sit down.
I was the first person to be called up for my interview whi... read complete review

My Fiancé and I stayed in the Squire Phillips Hotel; our room was facing the back of the building so we could see the consulate from our window. It was only about a 5 minute walk to get to the consulate, if that. We were at the consulate at about 6:50AM. When we arrived, there were already about 5 people ahead of us (one couple, one lady alone, and a lady with her mother I think who left before she went in). Once it got closer to 7:30AM, more people started showing up, but the line was still pretty small.
At 7:30 the guard started taking people in one at a time (your sponsor would join you as well). Once inside the doors, a man carrying a list of names asked to see my Interview Confirmation letter. He asked if my Fiancé was my sponsor and I said yes. Once he found my name we proceeded to the security check. We were asked to put anything we had in the bins to be scanned, and my fiancé had to remove his belt. We then went through scanners, picked our stuff back up and ... read complete review
