I arrived shortly before 7 and was third in line. It was a little chilly out, but thankfully not as bad as it could have been. The guard opened the door at 7:30 and started letting us in one by one (fairly rapidly). A lady on the left took the passport, loomis confirmation and the appointment confirmation; after checking those and writing numbers on the back of my passport, she handed them back to me. She also gave us a medical appointment satisfaction survey that we had to fill out to hand in later. I then went up a short set of stairs and went deposited all my belonging in a tray to be scanned; it\'s pretty much exactly like an airport security scanner.
After that, we went to the left, down some stairs and into a room with lots of chairs. Just head to the back left corner and you will see the elevator there. The elevator opened at 8am. Upstairs we were met by a lady who directed us to go stand in front of the Number 14 counter. I got C2. Then you go sit down a... read complete review

Just a quick note until I get home, but the interview was painless. We were first online and met many fellow VJ members which made it much more relaxing and fun. Thanks MapleleafManny for your support and relaxing demeanor, you made everyone else more relaxed. And mostly thanks to VJ and the awesome community of shared information . I can't imagine it having gone so smoothly without all this incredible information being shared here. I will write more details when I get home Thursday. Congratulations to all of you who were approved today and thanks for your friendship. Jim javascript:emoticon(' ')javascript:emoticon(' ')javascript:emoticon(' ')

I arrived in Montreal on the 18th for my interview that was on the 19th.
I stayed at the Days Inn which was an exact 10 minute walk from door to door. The hotel was clean and reasonably priced ($85.00 including tax +$20 for parking). It's currently undergoing renovations, so we did run into a couple hiccups, but didn't ruin our stay.
They day of my interview I arrived at the consulate around 6:40pm and there was one person already there (Greg - a VJ member) and we chatted for a little bit before being joined with Rooh (also a VJ member). I should mention it was an absolutely miserable day. We were waiting outside in the middle of a massive snow storm that accumulated approx. a foot of snow
We stood at the door and joked around until 7:30 when they opened the door. Security was a breeze. Then went downstairs to wait for the elevator which was opened up at 8:00. We promptly got into the back of the elevator so we were the fir... read complete review

Ron & I traveled to Montreal on 3/1. Our plan: Medical on Monday 3/4. Interview on Monday 3/11. Plan worked great & was a nice vacation for us too.
HOTEL & CITY:
We stayed at Le Square Phillips which is one street over from the consulate. Room and hotel were great, staff were wonderful. Rooms have a full kitchen in them. We thought we might use it a night or two, but after our first evening in Montreal with 2 burgers, 2 poutines, 2 beers and a slice of pecan pie hitting $76.00, we hit the grocery the next day. There is an IGA Grocery four easy blocks from the hotel. We cooked most meals there after that and enjoyed their continental breakfast each morning. We ate for the remainder of our trip for about $200 for two (that's 8 nights). I would highly recommend paying a bit more for this hotel room to have that convenience, especially if you are going to be staying more than a night or so.
MEDICAL:
Medical was at Medisys in the Loto Quebec (Lotto Qu... read complete review
