I arrived in Montreal on the 18th for my interview that was on the 19th.
I stayed at the Days Inn which was an exact 10 minute walk from door to door. The hotel was clean and reasonably priced ($85.00 including tax +$20 for parking). It's currently undergoing renovations, so we did run into a couple hiccups, but didn't ruin our stay.
They day of my interview I arrived at the consulate around 6:40pm and there was one person already there (Greg - a VJ member) and we chatted for a little bit before being joined with Rooh (also a VJ member). I should mention it was an absolutely miserable day. We were waiting outside in the middle of a massive snow storm that accumulated approx. a foot of snow
We stood at the door and joked around until 7:30 when they opened the door. Security was a breeze. Then went downstairs to wait for the elevator which was opened up at 8:00. We promptly got into the back of the elevator so we were the first off and lined up at the window where waited for another half an hour for our C number... I got C2 :D
The wait to get called up to the window wasn't long. Once there, the lady requested all my paperwork and I had to do my fingerprints... then was told to sit tight and it wouldn't be long until I was called for my interview.
About 5-10 mins later I was called to the back and had to rescan my hand to verify finger prints. The man who interviewed me was very nice and asked the following questions.
1. What year did you meet
2. How did you meet (we met over xbox 360)
3. When did you meet face to face
4. Where was this meeting
5. How often do you see one another
6. What do I do for a living
7. What are my plans for work when i move
8. Where do you plan on settling down
I think those were it...might have been some small follow ups regarding my answers, but those were basically it.
After that, he congratulated me and said I was approved.
Now I sit (impatiently) waiting for my waybill and passport.... To all the people reading this.... this wait is a billion times worse than the NOA2 so be prepared... hopefully you'll get it right away and won't have to wait
