Really friendly staff here - they seem genuinely interested in helping you get your visa. If you have followed other visa journeyers advice and you have your documentation organized you will do fine There is nothing to be nervous about - tho I know from experience you will be anyway

I'm a couple months behind on this review, but I was approved for my visa back in August!
I'd say the whole thing went very well. Parking in Vancouver is expensive, I was living in Langley at the time so I drove into the city. Avoid parking if you can! Take public transit! But make sure you have lots of time to spare. Security is a lot like an airport. The people were kind (for the most part) and helpful if you weren't sure where to go or what to do. I filled out a form wrong and my worst fears crept up, but the lady took me to a computer in the back and let me fix my error and print out a new form! The interview is a breeze if you know your stuff, which you should! It's just questions about you, your life, and your fiancee, how you met, etc. All pretty easy stuff. The waiting can be boring, especially since you can't bring in your electronics, but it's worth the wait!
Good luck to anyone else going through this process.

Hey Gang,
Had our interview this morning and we were approved!
Stayed at the Travelodge, which was pretty grungy and felt like a low-budget dorm room, but I didn't in until about 11:45pm and was out at 6:15 the next morning, so I wasn't there long and it served its purpose. It was about a 10 minute walk to the consulate, but I walked past it and went to Tim Hortons first.
Everything was pretty straight forward and similar to anything anyone else has ever written. I got in line at about 6:45am, there was a fellow VJ'er already waiting, and within seconds another VJ'er showed up with her fiancee. We all hung out and chatted until just after 7:30am. At that point they opened the doors and let us in one by one. Got through security very quick, it's almost exactly like an airport, went down the stairs and into the basement, sat in the chairs next to the elevator. I had a magazine with me to read, but at that point I was so nervous/ excited that I... read complete review

Arrive around 7 am, get let inside around 7:30. Take elevator up to consulate, this is where the line jumpers will emerge, not sure why someone feels the right to jump in front of others that have been waiting longer out in the cold, oh well you can't fix stupid or rude can you...
Get number at first window, then wait to be called up for them to check you have all your documents, took about an hour to get called up to first window.
Then wait to get called up to second window for interview, answer a couple questions swear an oath, get your finger prints taken took all of about 10 minutes.
That's it!! Real simple, everyone was real nice and polite

Just got back from my husband's interview and the process was very painless and quick!
We stayed at the Hotel Le Crystal which was about a 15 minute walk from the Consulate (very nice hotel if you're looking for something a bit more upscale). We left our hotel about 6:30 to head to the Consulate and got there at 6:45. There was one person there already, but they were lined up on the wrong side of the doors so we were first on our side. By the time they unlocked the doors at 7:30, there were about 10 people in line total. We went through security and sat right next to the elevators. The dude came to let us up at about 8 and we stood in the back left of the elevator like everyone says to do. We waited for about 10ish minutes to get our number and were given C1. We waited a few more minutes and then were called to the first window to hand all of our documents in. That part took the longest...I'm not exactly sure how long but it felt like 10-15 minutes, maybe more. We waited... read complete review
