Ok- So we stayed overnight at Hotel St-Denis. Which was pretty good.. only ten minute walking distance from the consulate.. HOWEVER they had an issue with their phones.. so our hotel room phone started ringing at 2am until we had to unplug it..lol Which was lovely. Anyway- our interview apt was at 9am- we got there at 8:30am.. no line up. Thanks to the site, we knew to bring very little with us to the interview. I asked the hotel to extend our checkout which they did to 1pm- so we could leave all of our stuff there which was great. We had to leave our car keys at the front though because it had a remote for locking/unlocking the car on it-which isn't permitted.
once inside we went down the stairs- no one there- into the elevator- no one there- and up to the 19th floor.. where the receptionist gave us A5 and we took a seat. We were called up about a half hour- 45 minutes later. I handed over all of my paperwork.. Can you believe I missed the part of Packet three that says... read complete review

I had my interview yesterday, at 9am. I arrived early, a tad before 8:30am and was let in right away. They checked my passport, appointment letter and Loomis confirmation, then through security (all the staff there was very nice and friendly, made few jokes with the security guards there). Was told to go to the elevator and right up to the 19th floor, only 1 person was waiting after the elevator (seems worth having a 9am apt instead of 7am just for that lol).
Up there, there was a lady waiting to guide people and give numbers. I waited about 20 minutes to be called to window #2. The lady there asked for some of my paperwork (passport, birth cert, marriage cert, etc), then sent me pay the fee at window #14 (being DCF my NVC fee wasn't paid yet). Then back to window 2 to get my fingerprints, give more paperwork to her. Then she told me to sit down and wait to be called for the interview. Waited about 10 minutes before being called.
I was at the interview win... read complete review

I went to Vancouver for my Dr's appt with Dr. Cheema and then to the consulate a couple of days later for our K1 visa interview. We stayed at the Best Western in Surrey, which was not very far from the Dr's office. First the Dr's office was very friendly and helpful. The dr's appt very easy. His nurse did height and weight for myself and my three kids. Next Dr. Cheema interviewed us all together and while he did that asked us some general questions about our health all the while filling out our paperwork. He did some basic checkup stuff, eyes, ears, blood pressure, etc. Talked to me about a couple of things while the kids were outside (grownup stuff ) He basically gave us the all good at the end. I picked up the report the next day at 4:30. The nurse went over the immunization records with me and advised me that I would need that report for the next stage of immigration. Finding the consulate was interesting as I was expecting a separate building or something, but... read complete review

We had our interview last week and all went smoothly. I was nervous about even being allowed to go in since the letter we received said no one but applicant but other reviews indicated the fiancé was allowed and I did want to be there if for no other reason than just for my fiancé to know I was there for him through the process from start to finish. I was really happy when the entry guard just looked at my passport along with my fiancés and gave us a friendly smile and told us to proceed to the other line. Once in and we had submitted our paperwork to 1st window we ewere told to wait to be called to other window for interview. It was really nerve racking listening to others being questioned and the family right before us was declined on a family petition and after seeing them walk away I was stupid nervous as it was as if the last few years had come to that moment and the realization that people do get declined (from what I could gather they had been in the states and let their vi... read complete review

I arrived at the Consulate at 6:57am. There was only one other person in line.
The doors opened at 7:30am. First you need to show the receptionist (right at the entrance) your Loomis number and your passport. Next you go through an airport-style security check. You must give up all electronics (such as cellphones) at this point. Don't worry, they give you a ticket with a number on it and your devices will be safe upon your return. After this you go downstairs and wait.
At 8:00am they open the elevators and tell you to go to the 19th floor. Once there, head straight to the "Visa Reception" desk right in front of the elevator, you can't miss it. The person behind the desk (if no one is there, don't worry, they will be eventually) will give you a number. Remember to specify you are there for a Fiance Visa!
After some waiting (not much at all, less than 10-15 minutes) you will get called to one of the desks. At this point they pretty much take... read complete review
