I had my interview yesterday, at 9am. I arrived early, a tad before 8:30am and was let in right away. They checked my passport, appointment letter and Loomis confirmation, then through security (all the staff there was very nice and friendly, made few jokes with the security guards there). Was told to go to the elevator and right up to the 19th floor, only 1 person was waiting after the elevator (seems worth having a 9am apt instead of 7am just for that lol).

Up there, there was a lady waiting to guide people and give numbers. I waited about 20 minutes to be called to window #2. The lady there asked for some of my paperwork (passport, birth cert, marriage cert, etc), then sent me pay the fee at window #14 (being DCF my NVC fee wasn't paid yet). Then back to window 2 to get my fingerprints, give more paperwork to her. Then she told me to sit down and wait to be called for the interview. Waited about 10 minutes before being called.

I was at the interview window literally 2 minutes. She asked me 1 question (how did you meet your husband), then she was simply asking me to confirm some informations (You lived in Japan? You've been married for 3 years? Is this adress correct? Alright you're all set, here's the welcome to America letter). I was out of the consulate before 10am. A guard downstairs even asked me how'd it go, thought it was nice of him.

Everyone working there were very professional and courteous. Everyone was smiling when interacting with me. No complaints there at all!

I would like to add this: You can bring your cellphone and small electronics to the consulate, they will keep it at security and give you a coupon to get it back when you walk out(some reviews were freakingly saying to not bring cellphone or you would not be let in... calm down people, calm down.)

Also, if you cannot leave your bags at an hotel or not sure what to do with those, you can go to the Gare central de montréal (about 20 mins walk from the consulate, or 5 mins bus or metro ride) and use lockers there. It is 5$. Note: if you need a locker before 8am, make sure you have 5$ flush in change, as you will have to get the token at the information desk, and the grumpy lady there cannot change a 10 or 20 bill. After 8am you go to the locker desk for those, and the guy has no issue giving you change back.
