Interview Date: November 10th 2015.
Before I got out of bed I was super nervous, I got myself ready, got my hair fixed up and put on my make up and just caught my bus and went on the sky train which I had to take all the way to Burrad from Lougheed station. First thing I did when I got close to there is I put my big bag and cell phone at my sisters office as I heard when you go the consultant building they wont let you bring in a big bag and no cell phones allowed *but I learned once I got there they will keep your cell in a safe* but as for big bags DO NOT BRING!! If you did bring alot of stuff there are places like Quiznos which is across from the building that will hold your bag for sadly a fee *happy I didn't have to do that*.
Now the first thing that will happen is there is a security guard in front of the building that will ask for your DS160 and Passport then the second security guard will give you a card that will say B once I show my passport and D... read complete review

My interview was on the 9th of November at the Montreal consulate. My Fiancé and I drove up the night before from Niagara Falls and stayed at the Marriott Downtown Courtyard it was a 4 minute walk away from the consulate. Our interview was at 7:40am we got there at 6:30am, we were the first people in line. Around 7:00am people started lining up outside the consulate. The guards came out a little while later and asked for us to get our interview letters and passports ready then they handed out the numbers, I was number one. The lady asked me to go inside to show my letter and passport, they asked to see my Fiancés passport as well. We then went through security which wasn't bad since we only had our documents and coats, they put our things through the scanner then asked us to head downstairs to sit and wait for the elevator. After we got off the elevator we were asked to sit in the middle section of chairs and to wait for our number to be called. Once our number was called we went up ... read complete review

Had my interview this past Friday morning. My interview time was scheduled for 7:40 but of course I had read that it was really a first come, first serve situation so I arrived at the building at 7 to about 10 people in front of me. I ended up being handed a #4 for the k-1 visa applicants though. They told me to hold onto this and wait for that number to be called. Just before 8 they let us all inside - through security and to a small waiting room in front of a large elevator. (I know it has been said before but bring as little to the Consulate with you as possible! I just brought my phone and my documents.) We waited in this small waiting room for maybe 5 minutes tops and then we went upstairs where we were told to sit on two different sides of the room (immigrant and nonimmigrant). They started calling numbers immediately to what is considered a "pre screening".
The gentleman at this first window did my fingerprints and gathered all of my documents starting with my pa... read complete review

My fiance flew in the day of the interview from Calgary. He took the sky train from the airport to the consulate, and said that navigating was pretty simple and straightforward. He was pretty early (just in case the flight was delayed), so he went across the street to the Quiznos and hung out for a bit. He was able to store his stuff there for $10 cash, which was convenient since he wasn't allowed to take his phone into the consulate building. He went through security and went to the proper floor, and then waited for an hour or so until he was called to submit his documents. He then went back to his seat and waited while the agent reviewed his information. He was called back, asked a couple of very straightforward and simple questions, and was told we were approved! He said the entire process from entrance to the building to approval was about an hour and a half or two hours. He said everyone was friendly, and it was pretty smooth from start to finish.
