My interview was scheduled at 8:00am and I arrived at the consulate just after 7:00am. I was told to come back at 7:30-7:45. I went to the Starbucks in the same building and drank a coffee while I waited. Mind you, I couldn't monitor the time very well because I had left my phone at home!

I went back at 7:40 and was allowed through. They checked my DS-160 and my passport and sent me through security. A guard downstairs searched all my belongings (though I didn't bring much with me) before I was sent inside to go through a metal detector and have my things x-rayed. Then I was sent up to the 20th floor to a booth where a woman asked for my fiance's full name and took all of my documents and looked everything over. I gave her my passport, DS-160, medical results, birth certificate and photocopy, police certificate, 2 pictures, I-134 and evidence of support (I had fiance's 2014 tax transcript, W2, letter from employer, bank statement and last 6 months of pay stubs), and our ... read complete review

Medical Exam:
I arrived a few minutes ahead of time for my appointment and was told to have a seat. I was then called up and asked for 4 photos, my receipt with the appointment of my interview at the consulate, my vaccination records and they made a copy of my passport. I filled out a single piece of paper with my address, my fiance's address and my email address. I took a seat for maybe 10 minutes, then was taken in for my weight and height. Next I had a quick eye chart test, blood pressure and some weird stomach presses. This was it for the "physical exam" due to the fact I said no to all the questions about my health history the doctor required. Next, you are sent down the road to have x-rays and blood work. I first went up and the blood work line was CRAZY! I then went back and had my x-rays done. If you have long hair remember to bring a hair tie, I almost didn't have one and the technologists or doctor or whatever was just sort of standing there looking at me disappointed... read complete review

Appointment time was at 9:30am. Woke up at my hotel (Days Inn) and walked to the consulate. Arrived at 7:30am, already a lineup. Security sending those who have backpacks to the Eaton Center food court where they have lockers. Got into the building and presented my interview letter, and given a appointment number (#10) from there I was led to the security area where I was scanned. Had to turn over my cellphone (only thing I brought other than paperwork).

Went downstairs to the elevator, it wasn't busy at all for the elevator. I was told to sit down and wait. Since I arrived much earlier than my appointment, it was fine to wait. I was called up to the #12 window around 9am. I submitted my passport, medical, police certificate, and birth certificate. After the clerk, gave back the medical xray CD, police certificate and birth certificate.

Again I was told to sit down in the waiting area. After 5 min I was called to window 8, where I answered general questio... read complete review

I was very pleasantly surprised with the process at the Vancouver Consulate. My appointment was scheduled for 10 am. My fiance and I arrived at the consulate around 930 am. We were greeted by security staff outside the building, there were a few others in line as well. At this stage they ask why you are here and then you will need to provide them with you cnofirmation page of the DS-160 and your passport. If your USC petitioner accompanies you as they did me then they will be given your documents once reviewed. You will need to turn off your phone and give it to them and if you have a bag they will search it ask if you are carrying a list of security risk items and then you will be move on. You will then be escorted to a airport style scanner for a final security check. All personnel were incredibly friendly and polite. You are then escorted to floor where interview occurs. It is like a doctors waiting room. First you go to a counter and a lady will come to retrieve your documents. I h... read complete review

I (the sponsor) accompanied my fiance to Montreal for her interview. We stayed at the Le Square Phillips Hotel and Suites (highly recommended), which is less than a four minute walk from the US Consulate.

Security:
Her appointment time was for 0740, and we got to the door around 20 minutes before her scheduled appointment, to find a line of people outside the door waiting to be let in. The security checks to get into the building were one at a time, and seemed slow for a lot of people, though we were through in less than 2 minutes. (FYI, have your DS-160 and Passport in hand when you are at this point.) The no backpack and cellphone rules are strongly enforced; you will be turned away (even small backpack-like purses). We saw that a couple coming through with an infant were allowed to keep the diaper bag with them.

Waiting:
After security, we were ushered down stairs to a small waiting room, and then proceeded up an elevator to the main wai... read complete review
