I'm the petitioner, but I attended my fiance's interview in Montreal so I'll be providing the review for him.

The interview was scheduled for Wednesday, Feb 3rd at 9:30 AM. Crappy weather, so we were happy that they let us in when we showed up at 8:30 AM. We got number 19 and went through the usual security checkpoint and then headed to floor 19.

We sat in the middle section for probably about 45 mins - apparently we could have come earlier for our 9:30 AM, but we thought if we showed up too early we would get turned away.

The first kiosk was very brisk - "where's this doc, where's this?" Most adrenaline filled 10 minutes pulling out everything. Weirdly they only wanted the 2014 tax return for my I-134 and none of the rest of my supporting documents.

We waited for another hour until my fiance was interviewed. He said he was asked the standard questions of:
* How did you meet?
* Who typically travels to visit the ... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Brief Background since I am a new user:
Wife is a U.S citizen while I am a Canadian resident working on a work permit in Canada. We got married in August 2014.
I have been rejected twice for a non-immigrant visa.
Appointment date and time: February 2nd, 2016 @ 10 am
I did my medicals at Medisys, Montreal on 27th January. I was told that the reports will be available for pickup on 1st February but they were not ready till 9:30 am on the day of the interview.

Security:
We were greeted by a lady at the entrance who checked our p4 letter and passport. Security screening was a breeze since we didn't have anything besides our documents and our jackets. We used grocery bags to carry our document folders.

Interview:
Went to the 19th floor and sat for less than 5 minutes before called to a counter to submit documents. We followed the advice on Visa Journey and used tabs and sticky notes and document submission was very quic... read complete review

I had my interview on Jan 28, 2016 at 8:30 am.

I arrived around 7:30 and there was already a line of about 10 people. By around 7:45 they started letting people in. A couple were refused probably because they were too early. I entered and a woman to my left took my appointment letter and asked to see ID. She then gave me a number (#10). This was my number for the day.

I went up a short section of stairs to the security area where I emptied my pockets, etc. Then downstairs to the elevator room. I sat near the elevator as some suggested but that doesn't seem to matter anymore. The number that you get when you first arrive is the number they call out for throughout the day.

After a short wait an officer came and let us onto the elevator. Once we got up to the 19th floor, another man told us where to go if we were immigrant or nonimmigrant.

I sat and waited until about 9:30 and then I was called to counter #1. A lady was there and... read complete review

All in all, I have to say that this went very well and the stress I experienced was not necessary. But, given that my entire future depended on it, I would have to say that everyone's stress is well founded. Just try to give yourself a break.

I got to Montreal the night before and stayed at the Square Phillip just around the corner and took a walk by to make sure I would know where to go in the morning. Like everyone said, I went early around 7 AM and since there were only 5 people in line I went to Starbucks and grabbed a latte. I went back and was about 10th in line by then and many started filing in after that.

You go through security and they give you a ticket for forbidden items like keys and lighters. You go down some stairs and wait in a room with an elevator that a security guard comes by and pushes up to the 19th floor. The doors open on the opposite side that you enter and its like a DMV with numbered windows. You are given a number and yo... read complete review
