I had to fly to Montreal from Vancouver. Stayed at Hôtel Faubourg, which is about a 10 minute walk to the Embassy. The Embassy was opened at 7:30 (I believe) and my appointment was scheduled for 7:45. I arrived at 7AM and there was already a line up. Make sure not to bring any backpacks because the security will not let you through. Any type of electronics will be held at security until you're done. Once you're in, someone will scan your DOS print out and check your passport and will give you a handout on how to organize your paperwork. The handout will have a number, basically your place in queue. Once you passed through security, you'll go downstairs and wait next to the elevator. The elevator will be opened by someone from the Embassy and takes you to level 18 or 19?. You'll then wait for your number to be called. The number system is a bit complicated and the speakers are very quiet so make sure you pay attention. Once your number is called, you'll be asked to hand in different ... read complete review

It was really anti climatic to all the work you put into it haha. We spent the night at the Travelodge about 8 minutes away and right next to the 737 bus to and from the YUL airport! We got there at 9:00 A.M. for our 9:30 A.M appointment. There were no lines or anyone outside. The lady sent us away said come back at 9:15. Once we came back they checked my fiancé in and we went through security. We were number 15 but when we got to the top floor they were announcing number 13 already! They give you a check list of what she will need at the window. Everything on the P3 packet basically. She was called to the window after about ten minutes she came back and waited for the interview. She got rockstar number 7! Her interview lasted about 10 minutes and that was it she was approved. I feel like Feb is a better month to go there was nobody there at all if lasted 40 minutes total. If you have all the paperwork and can answer simple questions you'll be fine.

When I was going through my process, I found it so incredibly helpful to read what people had to say about their own experiences. Now that ours is done, I wanted to share! If you have any more specific questions, feel free to respond to this post, or message me privately.
This is exclusively about my experience with the consulate and interview.
My appointment was scheduled for 8:30 am on Wednesday the 22nd. I am not from the area, so I had picked up my medical from Medisys the day before and it was stored away with the rest of the materials I needed to bring to my interview. I was extremely prepared for the interview, and had all of my documents in one of the large zippered bags used for bank deposits. This kept everything together nicely and had no problem passing clearance at the consulate. I'd heard mixed things about what documents would be asked for at the interview, so I compiled much more than I was asked, just in case. Below is a brief list of wh... read complete review

It was a good experience as they were efficient and nice people. We didn't spend more than one hour overall.
The interview was smooth, more like a discussion. We got approved, it's a relief
Good luck to all

Our interview was scheduled for Wednesday, February 8, 2017. Because it was Montreal in winter, we booked flights from Vancouver, BC to arrive on Monday, so we had a "bumper" day in case we had weather delays. We were good, so we had an extra day in Montreal to enjoy.
We brought all the documents that were requested in our appointment confirmation email. The text is after the review, for reference.
In addition, we brought a binder which contained the following additional documents:
- Copies of everything from the I-129F filing
- The sponsor's divorce certificate (copies)
- All previous action documentation (NOA1, NOA2, etc.)
- Receipt of visa payment
- Additional income verification (letter from employer, letter from bank)
- Packet 4 instructions
Our appointment was for 9:30 am. We arrived a bit later than we wanted - at about 9:15. We checked in at the door, were given our number with sorting instru... read complete review
