Sydney Consulate is usually quite busy. Average waiting time for an interview is one month and 2 weeks to get passport mailed.

I was a bundle of nerves for weeks thinking about my interview, but I got out of it a couple hours ago and am very excited to say I was approved! I had a little trouble finding the correct elevator to take to get to the consulate (the MLC Centre is HUGE), but a really kind maintenance(?) man lead me in the right direction. I was expecting the interview to take place in some kind of room, but it literally occurs in the waiting room! You speak with a CO behind a panel of glass and everyone sitting and waiting can witness it all. That was extremely surprising to me! Everyone at the consulate was nice, including the CO who interviewed me. I don’t quite remember all the questions asked, but there weren’t many and I was done in the same five-minute timeframe many other people have mentioned. Thank you, everyone here at VJ who helped make this a possibility for us!

The security there was top of the line. The entire place was safe and well guarded which was nice. The personnel working there were very helpful in assisting me to where I needed to go, answering any questions I had. Waiting in line to be interviewed took the most time, as it lasted about an hour. The interview itself was less than 5 minutes for me and was quick and easy asking general questions mostly about my fiance' and his family. It is a small space so you get to hear everyone elses story as you wait : ) GOD BLESS AMERICA!

My K1 Visa was approved today with very little fuss. Everyone at the consulate was very helpful and pleasant and I arrived at 8:45am and had my interview, which was less than one minute long, and was back out the door at 9:30am. Extremely happy!

I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation for the hard working individuals of the US Consulate in Sydney. Thank you for your help and professionalism today. Every one was friendly and helpful which made a very stressful situation easier to deal with. I am honored to be given the opportunity to move to the greatest country in the world
