I am joining the August 2013 Filers Club . I filed a I-751 today for my wife . I am hoping for a quick processing and no RFE. I was off this site for almost 2 years . Looking forward to meet new friends and get updates from you guys . Keep posting any new information.

Some petitions that went at CSC were processed quicker than those at VSC. It takes over 5 mths sometimes depending on the number of petitions . My case was processed at VSC and took over 6 mths . Good luck . Touched means that they looked at your petition or it was moved from one desk to another .

Now that you are married --you have to put your husbands last name as your last name . You can keep your maiden name as your middle name . My wife dropped her previous middle name (mothers name ) and kept her previous last name (fathers name ) as her middle name , and added my last name as her last name .

What all do I need to take with me to the biometrics appointment?
Also, anyone recently completed a successful early walk-in for biometrics in Tampa, FL?
As someone said --Just bring the Letter and a photo ID . Good Luck .

Was wondering if there was a reliable illegal way because I have tried everything I could think of the legal way .
DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT
:bonk: We have enough illegals here . Dont compound the problem .Your daughter is old enough to fend for herself in the philippines . Or just wait for her time .

My wife and I sent the AOS package on December 20,2011 and the status from the USCIS web site are always correct when they touch it. They sent the case to California center to speed up the process and when i research everybody was telling this is very good but now in the web site the status is:
"On January 18, 2012, a USCIS office received this case from the State Department with a request that we review it. We will notify you when we complete our review, or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."
I dont know what to believe or what happen or if this is good or bad.
If somebody could say something about it i will appreciate it very much.
Thanks in advanced.
That is a good sign . Most of the times that petitions are sent to CSC --they approve it without an interview , and also it speeds up the process. Keep your fingers crossed.

I had my bio appointment today, and I was just wondering how long will it take for my EAD card to arrive?
And when I try to check the status online , it`s still says RFE which we`ve already sent out, and there was no update for Bio appointment, we just got a notice. So I guess, I can`t even rely on website to check status of my travel document or EAD.
When I try to call them, they`re not giving us any more info, just saying whatever is on the website.
Any suggestions?
Thanks guys !!!
Once your biometrics is OK --it may take about 2 weeks to be approved . Then you should get the EAD card to arrive within 2 after that . So I would say you will receive your card within 1 mth . We received our within 1 mth after the Biometrics .Good luck .

Hello everyone, ask ko lang if anybody knows how long will it take for me to get my kids who are still in the Philippines. I am under K1 visa and I am planning to work on getting them early next year. I waited months because I wanted to get my EAD and get a job to help paying for the fees needed and all the expenses.
Happy New Year everyone! God Bless =)
It depends on many factors . You will have to wait until you become a permanent resident then file for them . If your kids are under 21 and unmarried -it can take up to 3-5 yrs ( once a visa becomes available ). If your had put them down on the form when you were petitioned for and yr US husband petition for them --it can take between 1-2 yrs (once a visa becomes available at the embassy ) .This is all subject to other factors --dont quote me . Good luck .

SH!T! I just checked the USCIS website and sudddenly my EAD/AP has been approved (or Card Production). I know I am the latest one here, and I am so happy! What a great Christmas present. Hay can't breathe. Lol
Congrats Hope & Sun for yr EAD/AP. Why is it taking so long for yr Green Card . You may be the last of the Sept Filers ? Hang in there .

no i did not know as much about nigerian fraud ,I looked at ghana more as i figured interview would be where we married and he is from in ghana
Seawash --I guess you and yr husband need to do your homework . Maybe thats why yr husband got an F . Your husband needs to show proof beyond reasonable doubt that the relationship is not fraudulent . The onus is on him to show proof . Nothing (comments ) is being directed at you (Being an older woman , over 50 yrs etc)as you claimed .Nigeria and Ghana are high fraud countries . NIGERIA is famous for SCAMS . Let the buyer beware . You can elect to live in Nigeria /Ghana and resolve the problem . Besides when and if he comes to the Usa --be prepared to hear the comments that you said that the CO allegedly made.
Just an observation --I know of many older women that was preyed upon and used to attain legal staus . I wish you well . Keep us posted .

tHERE WAS NEVER ANY MENTION MADE OF LACK OF PROOF EVERYTHING ASKED FOR WAS OFFERED ,WHAT WAS SAID WAS BECAUSE I WAS A OLDER WOMAN IT WAS A FRAUD MARRIAGE.
i AM NOT CONFUSED i KNOW WHAT WAS SAID TO MY AFRICAN MALE SPOUSE WHO IS OVER 30 BTW ,WHY WOULD YOU WANT A WOMAN OVER 20 YEARS OLDER THEN YOU ? IT MUST BE A FRAUD MARRIAGE
Why would you wish to marry a man that is 20 years younger ? You are in yr 50 's . I remember a movie ''How Stella found her groove back''. If I may ask --Are you a white Americian or African American ? Just asking . I am looking through the eyes of the Interviewing Officer. I see some ''red flags '' . Just saying .

Just checked my e-mail and there were 2 from USCIS
Email 1 says -
Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production.
On December 22, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you.
E-mail 2 says -
Your Case Status: Decision.
On December 22, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice.
I'm confused because on the USCIS website the 'card/document production' circle is the last one, but I got that e-mail first, is this normal??
Also does this mean we are approved because there is no e-mail about 'post decision activity'? Just the 2 that sandwich that circle.
Thank you and Merry Christmas xx
I had a first email and letter that '' we have registered the new permanent resident status ''. The email about card production follwed a few days later . I received the card about 4-7 days later . Congrats . You should receive your Green Card very soon (after the hethic holiday mails delivery ).

Yesterday we received the RFE letter we were waiting for. The RFE was in regard to the form I-864 Affidavit of Support. The letter said that the income did not meet 125% of the federal poverty line. My husband is the sponsor and his income for this year is definitely well beyond the poverty line. He's self-employed and his previous tax returns show less than 125%. Our assumption was that they base the affidavit off of this year's Total Household Income (question 24.c on form I-864).
We already included my husband's pay stubs for this year. We have scheduled an infopass appointment for next Monday. Hoping that they can provide any answer. I was wondering if anyone here had a similar experience to ours. I'm thinking more and more it may be best to look for a joint sponsorship. Any thoughts?
The income tax requirement is based on the previous year(s)and not 2011 since filing is done in Jan-april .Your best option is get a joint sponsorship and make sure that the joint sponser meets the poverty line .Good luck .

I just printed about 6 chat logs and they were brief (1 page ) . As the saying goes " It is Quality NOT Quantity '' that matters .

When I went for my medical before I was issued my K1, I was cleared for every vaccine except the flu shot because it wasn't in season at the time of my K1 medical. As soon as it was in season, I went to get the shot at a local clinic in Canada. Now I'm in the US with my fiance, getting married soon, and I'm filing for AOS in mid to late January.
Will I still need to go to a civil surgeon and pay them a fee to have them do up a I-693 for me over one stupid flu shot? Or can I submit a 3025 with evidence that I got the flu shot at the Canadian clinic?
If I do need to go see a civil surgeon, does anyone know a trustworthy one in and around Central Florida?
A flu shot is not required . Once you have all the important required age appropriate vaccines --it is ok . You may need a civil surgeon to transcribe the records on the I-693 for a small fee. My wife went to a civil surgeon in Pensacola ( North Florida ) -closest Civil surgeon to us . He did a skin test and a brief physical . Some persons said they were approved without any further test or examination . We were approved without any RFE in less than 3 mths . Good luck .

Maybe you wait a few days and see what plays out . Maybe she is just visiting relatives or friends . If it is true and she is gone for real , then take the advise of the previous posts . Be thankful that she left at this stage of the relationship and not after things get more complicated and she takes half of your estate. I feel for you . Hang in there and be strong .

just wondering. if fiance results pregnant after last visit. would the pregnancy cause her visa to be denied?
not sure if anyone has gone through this process.?
Visa would not be denied but your affadafit od support would now have to include another person (the child ) .If the child is born and the Visa is still pending , some consulates may require a DNA test . Good luck .

Just back from my AOS interview at Fresno, CA.
Greencard approved!!!
IO was professional and friendly. He swore us in, asked to see photo IDs, then asked some routine questions, mainly a verification of the data on my application form (full name, parents' name, address, phone, previous employers, whether I had ever been arrested, dealt drugs, any criminal acts, etc.) He also asked to see the original of our marriage certificate.
The only relationship-related question he asked was how and when we met. He then took the I-94 from my passport. The rest of the time was spent making small talk with my husband (they had both worked previously for the same employer). He didn't ask for any photos or evidence of relationship. I think we spent about 40 minutes in total in his office. He told us to expect the GC within 4-6 weeks, though more likely within 10 days. He also reminded us the GC would be conditional and we would need to file for removal 90 days before the end of the 2 year period.
And that was it!!
We are so relieved and happy... and now back to our normal life. Good luck to everyone with upcoming interviews!
Congrats and welcome to the ''Green Card Club''. See you in 2 years .

My husband just made an appointment for me to see a civil surgeon on Wednesday. They said to transcribe I-693 for the adjustment of status will include a medical examination and would cost $170??? I thought it's only to transcribe and would only cost $20-$25? Please help!
We payed $140 for the medical exam , skin test and the transcription of the DS-3025 records . I took the advise of the Civil Surgeon and did it . It was worth it --we did not get a RFE and was approved quickly (without an interview ) .

Got interview date for January 3, 2012!!!
Pot121--Good luck on yr interview . Are you applying from K1 or other visa ? Was your case ever transferred to CSC or not ? We applied based on K1 visa and did not have an interview . Best wishes .

AOS was approved!! Interview was sooo easy. The guy was really friendly and pretty much said we were approved before we even sat down. He said, "I've been looking over your file, and seeing you guys - well, I'm a pretty good judge of character." He looked over our stuff again while he talked to us, made jokes, and just made us feel really comfortable. He asked us how we met, and how it progressed from there.
The best part was that he stamped my passport with an I-551 so that I could leave the country ad come back before I actually get my greencard in the mail. I'm going to visit my family in Canada, leaving Dec 14th, and we weren't sure that I'd have the greencard by then, so this will ensure that I can still travel
Painless and easy....thanks everyone for all your help along the way. I hope everyone else's goes this smooth.
Congrats --welcome to the "Green Card Club ".
