So, he sent the DS-230 back the next day after getting Packet 3. The Sydney Consulate emailed him back with another form, saying (paraphrased) “We see you lived in New Zealand. Fill this out so we can mail it to NZ for a Police Check for you.” So he printed that out, and mailed it back. He even got a tracking number and it was received by the Consulate. This was like… around March 8th.
Fast forward to the 29th. He has his interview. He was approved ‘pending’ clear Police checks. The Aus Police check was completed and mailed back to the Consulate. They should have received it two days ago. However, he called the Police in NZ, and they say they have not yet received any Police Check request for him. (Or anyone with his last name.)
So we’ve both written the Sydney Consulate to see where his form is, and ask as to why it wasn’t sent out. However, we have received no reply yet (after 4 days). I wrote them again today.
Anyone else have this issue? Syd Consulate not sending out a Police Check form after a month? That’s the last thing we are waiting on. As soon as that police check comes back okay, he gets his visa. Anyone have any thoughts on things we can try? He has already confirmed that he HAS to have the form sent on his behalf from the Syd Consulate. And there are no phone numbers we can use to talk to a real person about this!
Anyone? I’m going nuts.

Since I prepared my own taxes, I included a copy of those. It's the same thing that I had sent to the IRS. I'm not sure who strict the Philippines are, but I know the Australia Sydney Consulate is one of the 'easy' ones.
Oh, and congrats Dogspot! Keep us posted on the interview!

NVC reps do not say a MONTH. They say it takes between 10-15 business days for it to arrive. I would know as I was told that twice before I was told my NVC number and it's what others have recently said in the NVC forum.
If NVC reps don't say "can take up to a month", then I'm not sure who I called each of those 10 days. Because that's what they told me. "Can take up to a month."

NZ isn't not a 'high fraud' Consulate so there is no need to front load your petition.
Good luck!

It's somewhere in my signature.

Packet 3 should have instructions for you.

As stated, it CAN take up to a month. A month is still longer than 17 days, so technically, it's not taking 'longer than it's supposed to.'

Thanks Coconuts for remembering me!
Yes, I did this exact same thing. I heard many people say "Wait for an RFE." I even called UCSIS many times and got that same reply. However, I was reading cases of people getting denied after waiting 5 months. I was reading that on VJ here and another Immigration forum. I was reading all these, and I became scared that I would wait 5 months and get a denial. In fact, I made a post here and talked about my mistake. Everyone reply where someone started with "I did this same exact thing" ended with "I got a denial." All the people that suggested "Wait for an RFE" had not made this mistake.
I must emphasize though, that if you're going to send in additional paperwork, make sure you only send in copies. I got no confirmation that my papers were received. I heard nothing if they were matched up. However, I know they would not have approved me based on the I-129F petition alone. So they must have been matched up.
Best of luck to you. Please keep us posted!
Was the best $4.95 (postage) I've ever spent!

Where did you send your missing Documents with your NOA!?
The Texas Lock box or the Vermont Service Center?
Congrats BTW
Cheers
Kev & Andree & Paige
To the Service Center where my petition was.

One trip is fine. They jsut want you to meet in person. They do not put a limit on how many times. One time is fine. 2465246262 times is fine as well.
-
Your application will more likely be rejected because of lack of documents. These should be sent along with your I-129f packet:
G-325a
copies of my birth cert & divorce decree,
passport photos,
letter of intent and
proof of relationship
You don't need the Proof of Relationship at this stage. Just proof that you two have met within the last two years.
-
Check my signature.
We did just that same thing. We sent a COPY of our entire packet with our NoA1 on top to the service center with the hopes it would be matched up. They approved us, and I know there is NO way they would have without ANY documentation. So... it's worth a shot.
If your stuff doesn't get matched up, then at least you tried and you're only out the $5 postage to mail the packet copy to them.

I still say the options are:
1) Have her come here to meet you, document it, have her return home, then file for your K1 visa. Once approved, she can come here, you two get married.
OR
2) Have her come here to meet you, get married, have her return home, then file for your CR-1 visa. Once approved, she moves here.
I believe getting a waiver for having met in person is extremely difficult to get. Even if USCIS thought your medical condition is a good enough reason for you not to travel there... they probably will not accept it as a valid reason for her not to travel here.
-
And fyi, your profile says Texas Service Center. The TSC doesn't process I-129F petitions, so you'll be routed to either California or Vermont Service Centers.
-
Forgive me, but why can't she travel here to meet you? Couldn't she come over on a visitor's visa in order to make contact?
-
I dont see how it can go against you. The point of my post is that it might be able to be used as evidence of a continued relationship at the Consulate level. However, is pregnancy has no bearing at all on a I-129F petition at USCIS.
-
I think it needs clarification:
All petitions are sent to the Texas LOCKBOX.
Then they are either routed to California or Vermont Service Centers.
The actual Service Center in Texas does not process I-129F petitions.
-
Previous posters are correct. All USCIS cares about is if you get married. Whether she's having your baby or not... they don't care.
Might be a different story when it gets to the Consulate level... but for the I-129F petition, the pregnancy part is worthless.

Has a lot of information and experiences for the medicals. All through the thread... even near the end pages, too.

He has tried the number. Said it was an info line and he couldn't find a way to get in touch with a real person.
-
So... even though he's approved, we're still waiting on the Police Checks. He called up the NSW Police peoples to check on that one. Seems it was just waiting on a final something-or-other. It was sent out today to the Consulate. They said they'd get it by Monday, and that it'd take a couple days to get in and arranged from the Consulate mail room.
The NZ one though... he called them up and apparently, they have "Nothing in the system for that name." So he emailed the Consulate (since he can't find a phone number to talk to a real person) and asked about it. We're waiting on that reply.
So who knows how long that will take!
-
CONGRATS!!! I was waiting for this!
-
Life's not 'fair'. The people that process the petitions all work at different speeds, and sometimes they pick up a box with more recent petitions.
Patience is a virtue. Trust me. It happens, just give it some time. (Having gotten my NoA2, I remember how wrenching it was to wait. So please, none of this "You already have yours, so you don't know what it's like" stuff. I had to wait, too.)

But one is alive and the other is not.
New Zealand Police Check Lost?
in Australia and New Zealand
Posted
Nope, he was told by the NZ Police that they will accept it this way, but the Consulate will not. Also, we were told by many sources that the just going to the NZ Police on your own without the Consulate mailing the form for you will result in the incorrect type of police check.
